stayed at kirkwood house for 4 nights last week as myself and a colleague were working in Cambridge . first thing to say is that the owner required payment up front for the whole stay so beware that once you hand over your cash then you are essentially committed to stay there . we were given a twin room in... The room in the annex was clean, comfortable and quiet, if not big. The fact that no breakfast was on offer suited us well but this we discovedred only after having reserved the room. Taking that into account the price was also average. The lack of breakfast also meant thate there was little contact with owner. The location of BB... More

We booked three nights at this guest house. When we arrived before seeing the room we had to pay up front. Our room was in the annexxe and was like a smelly portacabin. (It had been raining heavily!) We had to keep the en-suite bathroom door closed because the smell eas so bad. The room and en-suite were dirty esp... More

Stayed here recently with my mother. We booked the day of through a third party booking service once we decided to drive to Cambridge. The owner of the house was not very friendly. Room was tiny (twin room which should actually be a single). No breakfast served, which is rare for a B&B or guest house in England. When we... More

Firstly we booked 3 rooms here without knowing all the negative comments on this place. As a tourist away from home, we never expect something like this would happen to us. It started with the surcharge they put on us with prior notice, we got upset as we arrived on time and they should have inform us nicely with the... More

Firstly, let me clarify, I'm a very friendly easygoing individual who is quite happy at backpackers on my own budget, so expected something decent from what my work budget could provide. Here is an overview of the three rooms to give you a good idea of this place: 1. Double room main house: Nice size, pretty decor, very hard bed,... More

Small clean room, ok. Breakfast is no longer on offer, which is made clear in advance, also ok. Plumbing extraordinary, however..... when you turn on either tap, nothing happens for a minute or two or three, then a sudden violent explosion of water (same for the shower). As the basin is tiny, there's a real risk of flooding the floor.... More

First, let's get the bad news out of the way. We booked Kirkwood House because it was the only B&B available, after calling 5 other places. Internet did not work well; wall was very thin and you can hear everything. The room was Tokyo-tiny and the beds were very narrow. Good thing my husband and I are on the small... More

The landlady of the B&B should really take a course in customer relations if she doesnt want this business of hers to be doomed. Absloute joke when it comes to customer relations and looking after the people who stay there . The place also is defintley not worth the money I have paid for my stay. I would not have... More
