My boyfriend and I recently spent one night at The Lensfield Hotel and overall were fairly pleased. Our arrival was slightly tarnished by Cambridge councils parking situation (only parking we could find locally was 50 pence for every 10 minutes with a maximum 2 hours), although when we mentioned this to the receptionist on checkin, she arranged for one of... To be fair the booking confirmation said "Please note that our rooms are on the small size", but that didn't quite prepare me for the reality. The tiny shower cubicle opens directly into the room, and there's no towel rail, so damp towels ended up on top of my suitcase - which occupied almost the entire floor space. This was... More

We arrived at The Lensfield for a weekend away in cambridge. We were stuck down in the basement which was right next to the boiler that would make a loud noise every ten minuets or so. This made it very difficult to sleep. The bath room door had a large hole in it. The hotel looked very old and run... More

This is a strange and quirky hotel (not necessarily a bad thing!) which is conveniently located for central Cambridge. The hotel was clean and friendly and easy to find. The room was well equipped (if a bit crowded) with tv, iPod docking station, tea and coffee making facilities and a nice bathroom with good shower. The room was very small... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of Frebuary and it was a nice stay. The staff is very helpful and nice, the rooms are well-equipped and the bathroom is also clean and nice. Breakfast is good and varied. The cons I would highlight is that if you have a heavy suitcase, and you are given... More

I stayed in this hotel for one night. I had a single ensuite room ( room no157). I was a bit wary having read the reviews and I was positively surprised. Positives: 1. The room was clean 2. The room was quiet (at the back of the building) 3. Although on the small size, I was able to move around... More

Two things readers might want to bear in mind about Cambridge: it's an expensive city and there are very few hotels right in the centre. Fact is, Cambridge gets loads of tourists and visitors of all kinds so space is at a huge premium. So, with that starting point, the Lensfield Hotel hits many of the right buttons: it's right... We actually enjoyed our stay, the rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and it was good location. The only downside is the lack of parking, only 5 spaces and the rooms are slightly over accessorized, it looked like Laurence Llewellyn Bowen had styled them. More
