We took my parents for a meal on Father's Day, having booked up in advance. Having been to the restaurant twice before and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, once a Sunday lunch and then for an evening meal, we were so impressed by their food, that we wanted to take my parents there (from Swindon) as I felt we were guaranteed... The bowl inn is a bit hidden from the usual trafic, therefore it is a quiet place to stay. The rooms are modern (although the building does not look modelrn ;-) and clean, bathroom is fine, wireless internet is fine, food in the bar is even great, with local providers! I can only recommend this Inn! In addition, the location... More

This pub has a great location, nice and quiet with plenty of parking. Having seen the menu, I was looking forward to a nice Sunday dinner on Father's day. We all ordered beef which looked nice but felt it wasn't worth £10.95. It was not really big enough and the meat was barely warm. It could also do with a... More

The Bowl Inn is a Very old traditional pub with bags of atmosphere. There is an imaginative menu although the actual food is no more than good. The rooms are very basic and the noisy bathroom fan is extremely annoying. however, lots of quaint and rustic charm and so much nicer than the plastic chain hotels that abound in Bristol.... More

Following my first review - this is the second time we visited the Bowl Inn. And we had a great time here. The service was excellent. Dinner was grand and the room, although small for a familly of 4 - was adequate. I will probably stay at the Bowl Inn, everytime we go to Bristol (unless fully booked of course!)... More

This is usually a good place to eat, just outside Bristol. I have been several times, but last time, on the 25th May 2013 the experience was less than we expected. A few annoying things made it feel a bit of a let down. To begin with ordering a £17 bottle of wine which comes with a screw cap is... More

We visit the bowl inn regularly and highly recommend it. The whole experience is always first class. The food is cooked fresh and sometimes you may wait a little but for fresh not microwaved food what do you expect? The staff always look after us well. We love going to The Bowl with both friends and family

Very pleasant small pub / inn accomodation in a quiet location. Excellent breakfast to start the day. Olde worlde beams in bar / restaurant and room. Room only had a shower but for a couple of nights that was fine.

Had been to The Bowl many times before but never again after Saturday evening 4.5.13 When we arrived, the bar was covered in dirty glasses and debris. There was only one person behind the bar so we waited for some time to be shown to our booked table. We spent some time sandwiched between 2 families with very noisy children... More

We visited the Bowl Inn in April and had such a nice meal we came back for our sons' birthday. All of our meals were delicious and beautifully cooked at a fair reasonable price. The service was excellent and we were served by a very friendly knowledgeable waitress. Thank you for such a lovely evening.
