Having stayed at the hotel on the last night of the Dales Highway, the food, service and incredibly warm welcome by the owner and staff really was a fantastic highlight to a great week in the Yorkshire Dales. Very apparent that the owner Alan and his staff take great pride in what they have created as well as giving the... More

What else do you want? Shame that we discovered this great dinning place on our last day! Next time we will try to spend a couple of nights in this fabulous Black Swan.

What a find! Fantastic staff (especially Laura), fantastic rooms and brilliant food. This place has got it all. Off the beaten track somewhat but thriving with lots of visitors for meals and well frequented by locals. Very relaxed, serving real ales and a varied menu with Chef's specials which changed every day. We were a party of 8 and they... More

It is difficult to know where to start - with the superlatives! Alan, a charming host; delightful. friendly and helpful staff; Bar with ambience and character; excellent and very reasonably priced food - all in all 5 star plus. Our upgrade to a most comfortable suite was a totally unexpected bonus and having walked some 18 miles the lift offered... More

The food, service, decor, and people make this the nicest pub I have visited in the UK. Real ales, roaring fires, genuine people, village store, and simply amazing food that is locally sourced. Had a fantastic time. Will definatley be back

We took our Maltese visitors for dinner at the Swan and they were not disappointed. They loved the village, the warm pub atmosphere and the beers on offer, and the friendly and welcoming staff. Even though we were told there might be some disruption as the heating system was being updated, we never noticed. We ate in the dining room... More

When we rang to book, the receptionist said that they were having a new boiler installed and although it would be almost done the plumbers might still be finishing up - would that be OK, or would we prefer to find somewhere else, which she would completely understand. Undaunted we booked three rooms for one night's DB&B (10th May) and... More
