for an ocd germaphobe backpacker, Im kind of hard to please but Cona did just that. Everything is super clean, fresh & bright. We stayed is the large dorm at the top of the outdoor stairs with the slidi.g patio door. All the beds were clean.. no beat up bed frames/hole filled sheets/mystery boogers on the walls. We had our... More

Spent a night at the Cona Hostel in Courtenay since it was a convenient place to stay while we were in town to catch a show at the nearby Sid Williams Theater. It was as clean as you could ask for, and the staff was welcoming and attentive. I found the concrete floor in the kitchen/common area to be uncomfortable,... More

This was our third trip to Courtenay, BC where we stayed at The Cona Hostel. Perfectly situated for families visiting with or without a car...a couple of minutes from the main shopping street, coffee shops, parks, indoor skateboard park, tennis courts, kayak rentals, and it hangs (literally) over the river by the 5th Street Bridge. Shuttle will take you to... More

Had 2 nights at the Cona Hostel in Courtenay. Originally we had planned on camping but left it too late to book a spot over the long weekend, we found this place as an alternative. The location was pretty good right along side the river overlooking a park, walking distance to pubs, cafes and grocery store all pretty much on... More

The Cona hostel is one of the best set up hostels i've ever stayed in. It's great for solo travellers - you walk straight into the cosy lounge and the best stocked kitchen i've ever seen. It's a welcoming, friendly place and the hosts are also full of information on local activities and hiking routes in the must-see Strathcona Provincial... More

Floating down the river outside the Kona, hiking in Strathcona Park, some of my best memories of last summer. Great staff, affordable, cool guests, number 1 location, this place rocks! More

Vibrant, Cozy, Clean, Inviting! What more could you ask for. Couldn't speak more highly of this place. Lovable, down to earth, quick witted staff have an exceptional knowledge and experience of the surrounding area and beyond. Taste of the Valley tour with the Cona Shuttle is a must do to get a glimpse of the local sites and delicacies around... More
