My fiancee and I selected the suite (the Pilothouse) Melanie complained about. Frankly, it was a great experience. Yes, the water closet is situated in a, well, a closet!! It was a hoot - a great memory. But then again, the website says "in suite water closet", not ensuite. The balcony is somewhat functional but again, access to it is seasonal!!!... More

We stayed for one night in 1875 a Charters Inn. It was a pleasant stay. The room was of good size. Everything was clean and functional, but furniture and the overall look was a bit outdated and not very modern. The host was a very friendly and hospitable chap; he will join you for a beer on the patio for... More

When researching accommodations you try to find a place that meets some requirements. We look for someplace 1) centrally located in town, 2) an old historic building that is a b&b if possible, not a hotel, and 3) walking distance to good restaurants. Charters Inn fills the bill, and then some. I met Gerry, my affable host, as he was... More

Very enjoyable sojourn at Charters Inn. Our host was very congenial and friendly. We were three people. We enjoyed our conversation with with our host Jerry Lesperance. His wild blueberry crepes were absolutely delicious. Located close to good restarants and to the harbour.

We had the good fortune to stay at this great little B & B recently and were really pleased with our rooms. The beds were really comfortable and our host Gerry went out of his way to make us feel at home and relaxed. The food was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. We look forward to... More

This B&B is terrific. It's hard to pick a favourite aspect of my couple of days here. Host: Gerry is so accommodating, easy to get along with, full of great stories and an UNBELIEVABLE chef. He GENUINELY wants you to enjoy yourself, and that makes all the difference in the world. He's a well-travelled guy and KNOWS GREAT SERVICE. Food:... More

I have never been to a B and B mostly from horror stories from others, however, the experience at this B and B can easily put any doubts about the whole B and B experience to rest. Gerry was an excellent host and a wonderful chef with homemade creations that could put some of my families best recipes to shame.... More

We were under the impression that our bedroom in this B&B has an ensuite bathroom. We were sorely mistaken. Our so called "ensuite" bathroom was a closet with a toillet crammed into it. Whether you are a man or a women, you cannot shut the door while you are doing your business. The fireplace, portayed on the website, is not... More

The Charters Inn is an 1875 brick home with a large curved porch with period gingerbread detailing under the eves that presents an attractive approach. Inside the home, you are welcomed by lovingly restored baseboards and a cherry wood banister. The home is spotless. Our bedroom was comfortable with a quality mattress, covered in sheets that a drill sargeant could... More

My husband and I stayed for a few nights in August 2012. Gerry was a terrific host! His breakfasts are a gourmet gift and he went out of his way to accommodate our food preferences. The room was spacious and well appointed with a private bathroom and separate entrance. Gerry took extra time to talk with us about the area... More
