We stayed here when doing The Way of The Roses Coast to Coast cycle ride, it was very convenient for us with the only slight problem being the distance to the city centre.
The hostel is situated on the cycle route and provides excellent value for money when compared to staying in a hotel. The building itself is old, full...

The location is quiet and easy to find, a short walking distance from York Minister and the local amenities. The room we stayed in was full, all ten beds occupied, yet we didn't feel particularly cramped. There was some storage space and if you are thinking of staying here, don't forget to pack a padlock to lock your cupboard.

I stayed at this hostel for 4 days in October of 2009.First of all it should be said that it is located about a mile outside of the actual city walls of York.I actually liked that! It was a nice quiet location by the river. And the walk into town was alongside the river [ possibly a canal] .It made a...

Stayed for one night in Aug 09.I think it depends on where you are in the hostel but our room was damp, the carpet was stained and you stuck to it,beds hard, toilet next to us stank.
Breakfast ok but packed up at 9.30am on the dot and coffee pot taken away quickly.
Cost us £80 for a family room, outrageous for non...
