We stayed for a birthday celebration just before Christmas, with the bonus of the hotel being decorated for Christmas. The owner himself greeted us, and from that moment to our departure we were made to feel welcomed, and special. The staff to guest ratio is high, the food superb, the individual bedrooms all superb. (We stayed in "Lake" on the...

Having discovered Hambleton Hall by chance a couple of years ago and finally staying we were a little disappointed as it did not have the 'wow' factor. The room was ok, however as we had booked for three in the room, it was very disappointing to see that they had not prepared the room accordingly-only two robes and glasses-at this...

We booked a mid-week autumn offer at Hambleton Hall on Rutland Water in September to include Dinner and B & B. We were given an upgraded room with southerly views over the gardens down towards Rutland Water some 800 yards away. Everything was beautifully presented in the room and en-suite and the decoration was immaculate. Pre-dinner drinks in a very...

Sitting on the terrace, sipping a glass of champagne and overlooking Rutland Water - it does not get any better than this. It is also great to be able to walk down to the waterside direct from the hotel. We had a beautiful bedroom - very spacious and with great views. However, even though the weather was not particularly hot,...

Wonderful hotel; elegant & graceful. Simply perfect. The rooms are lovely but quite small, the dining experience is a delight, the service is impeccable. So often Hambleton is compared to Stapleford, other than their proximity there is little comparison, their atmosphere & ethos are so completely different. Stapleford shouts at you from the rooftops, where Hambleton whispers gracefully. They are...

We had a night here specifically to try the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The meal was ***** not a thing to fault. The wine list brilliant and the wine waiter was charming and we had a perfect wine for under £25 which in this day and age is great value. All the staff were brilliant. The room was lovely...

My first encounter with this hotel was 27 years ago when my husband took me for dinner on one of our first dates, clearly he wanted to really impress me - it worked. Recently we returned for our 25th wedding anniversary and I have to say they have kept the standard high. Food is fantastic, location overlooking the Rutland water...

Myself and wife visted Hambleton Hall as part of a retirement gift from friends. The experience was wonderful. We stayed in one of the standard rooms which had a fantastic view over the formal gardens and fountain out onto Rutland Water (which was a casual 5 mins stroll away and directly accessed from the hotel grounds. The staff were extremely...

Myself and my wife went just for lunch at Hambleton Hall on a sunny November afternoon for my 46th birthday.
I have never seen or eaten anything like it all of those 46 years. The food is simply phenomenal.
We both ate from the A-la-carte menu so it doesn't come cheap. Though they do offer a "Lunch for less" option....
