My husband and I got married at the Amerdale House Hotel in September last year and we were blown away by the friendliness and service we received from Andy, Caroline and Liese. Within the last two weeks, I have tried to contact the Amerdale to book a room to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and have discovered that they have... More

From the welcoming glass of Pinot Grigot when we arrived to the mansized BLT sandwiches halfway up the dale, Andy and Caroline could not have done more for our spring walking holiday. Our rooms were spotless, the breakfasts were splendid traditional English (with porridge as an option), and Amerdale is situated half way up a remote Yorkshire Dale in glorious... More

This is friendly, well run hotel in deepest Yorkshire countryside with hearty food not for the fainthearted. Food is honest and unpretentious sourced as locally as possible, gorgeous home made sausages and black pudding the best i have ever tasted. Lovely homely rooms with gorgeous views of the garden and countryside. Staff are professional, friendly and hilariously funny all adding... More

Amerdale House is one of those jewels in the crown that you want to tell everyone about but you don't want them ALL to go - in case you can't get in next time! It's exactly what it says on the tin - a restaurant with rooms. Like a previous reviewer, I would say too that it's an excellent restaurant... More

Having read all the good comments about Amerdale house we decided to book a Christmas break there. On arrival the welcome was very friendly and we were shown to the room which was a reasonable size with a warm comfortable king size bed and views over the gardens to the hills beyond. The hotel is very well presented and decorated... More

Having enjoyed Sunday lunch at the hotel earlier this year we booked six rooms for a two night stay with friends. We all had an excellent time in every respect. Everyone was made very welcome by Andy , Caroline & their team & they all worked very hard to ensure that we had a good time. The bedrooms are very... More

We booked the whole place - 10 rooms - for an annual reading group of 16 55-65 year-olds. The location is fantastic: wonderful walks from the door. The bedrooms were comfortable. They - and their bathrooms - varied greatly in size (but not in price). I like the furnishings a lot. The main reception room was very comfortable. (BIt of... More

This hotel was really lovely, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the food was out of this world and all the little extra's made it very special. The restaurant toilet is also a fun experience (especially if your small like myself, my feet didn't touch the ground!) My one and only gripe was the bath in our room was... More
