Rooms are clean and comfortable albeit lighting dim. Great location. We were there at a non busy time so perhaps not usual staff on, but we were not impressed with the restaurant food at night although breakfast was 'solid'. Staff seemed disinterested and unhappy. More

Mid range hotel. Large bright rooms with good beds. Very clean with good shower. Tv in room. Small pool and attractive courtyard. Good restaurant and good location on edge of square. More

My wife and I traveled by car throughout Mexico. On our way home from Puerto Vallarta, we decided to do the Copper Canyon train ride. My wife had been once before and said it was worth doing twice. Instead of leaving from Los Mochis, the terminal of the train line, we decided to leave from El Fuerte ( the first... More

The hotel is within walking distance of the bus which had brought us here from Los Mochis and is right in the centre of town. The grounds and buildings are very attractive and the room was comfortable. Good sitting out areas and we saw 10 hummingbirds at the same time on the feeders !! The dinner we had in the... More

It's a great setting but the staff was unfriendly (no greeting, no smiles), too many things were lacking in the room (we had to ask for a 2nd towel, a 2nd glass, and to have the lamp fixed, and even with it fixed, the light was so dim it was hard to unpack and pack), and the mattress was even... We stayed at this hotel along with another couple in Oct. 2008 on our way and our way back from the CHEPE train trip up to Creel and the Copper Canyon. We left our vehicle parked in the courtyard while we were gone 4 days. Felt very good about leaving it there. The hotel has so much character, room well... More

Really sweet authentic Mexican rooms, clean and nicely decorated we were very happy with them. It was just a shame we were made to feel like an inconvenience. I had emailed them with our flight and bus details along with out ETA and we arrived as arranged about 10pm. The person behind the desk checked us in and handed us... More

I've stayed here literally a dozen times over the past three years. VERY nice folks. They go out of their way to take care of you. It's not the Four Seasons (In El Fuerte?), but it's very nice, clean, and reasonably priced. Decent food, too. The only down side is the the service in the restaurant is sometimes a bit... More

We are a tour organizing company that uses Hotel La Choza often. We have never had any problem with cleanliness nor any inconveniences in using the hotel. Our customers have always been satisifiied with the hotel and the services provided. El Fuerte is in a tropical aerea, next to a wide river where it 's difficult not to find any... More

We had two rooms #20 & #21. Two of us had bites and were later confirmed as being bed bugs. Use caution. More
