We had originally booked to stay at the St Crispin Inn around the corner from the Blue Pigeons and were a little sad when we drove passed and saw how lovely it was... But were looking forward to the picture painted by the website of the St Crispin... Until we arrived - what must have originally been an amazing old... More

Stayed the night in the johnny cash room. not sure exactly what made this particually johnny cash, (maybe the £85 per night?) there were a few guitars about and some pics on the wall, but pictures of lulu and rotating elvis nightlight tend to ditract from this. Room freezing. (radiator turned off, plenty of notice of arrival so no excuse)... More

We stayed in a "chalet room". Given the price (£85) and the TV recommendations, we expected an awful lot more. The chalet was cold when we got there (bathroom freezing!), and had, we felt, a cheap bed and flimsy bedding and pillows, and was generally pretty basic. There was no wifi signal whatsoever in the room, despite being just a... More

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Blue Pigeon and can't tell you how impressed I was with the service food and rooms which were provided. I stayed in the vintage room which was an absolute delight. The staff were helpful on places of interest around the area and the barman chef and watress we had... More

We stopped off at the Blue Pigeons on Thursday night en route to a seaside weekend, and had such a great time we came back for the Saturday! So welcoming, lovely bar, fabulous food and above all, welcoming host, staff and locals alike. The rooms are quirky, clean and comfy (not 4 star hotel but all the better for that!).... More

As an American family living in Europe, we have certain preconceptions (call them stereotypes if you like) of British culture, living, and food. We found the Blue Pigeons a charming example of British country life, as we had expected. Quirky is certainly the word that prevails at the Blue Pigeons, but don't let this be an obstacle ; if you... " Blue Pigeons is a charming example of British Country Life" Thank you, that's exactly, what we have strived for, and, for all the other wonderful positive comments about our old Georgian Vicarage. But, we not understand whyTrip Advisor's sometimes feel the need to bring up the small negative issues that bare no relevance or have any impact on their... More

Booked for two nights could only stay for one as we had a family emergency. We were made to feel very welcome by Marylin and her wonderful staff. Our room was clean and tidy but very cold. It would of been nice if the radiator had been turned on in advance of our arrival, this was also mentioned to us at... More

Thanks for your lovely comments aboutThe Pigeons staff and myself were so glad you enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We have been so lucky with the weather, the night you stayed, the first chilly one, on check in, we offered to turn the heating on but your husband declined, any noises could have been stopped by simply turning the... Thanks to Marilyn, Amy, Ed and all the gang for making our brief stay so pleasant. Whilst we didn't get to stay in one of the 'characterful' rooms, the chalet room we were accommodated in was clean, fresh and very roomy. Even our neighbouring guest who snored loudly for more hours straight than we thought was humanly possible, it didn't... More

What a lovely place,. My wife and I stayed for just one night but wished we stayed for more. We stayed in a chalet outside the pub and it was very clean and comfortable, next time we will try a room inside. The pub was very quirky and the music was excellent (Marilynn certainly knows her music). The staff bent... More
