From the arrival to leaving great night away. Food brilliant and very relaxing. Rooms stunning and very modern decor. Sit on the decking with a glass of vino, and you are sorted! Very well priced and will be back soon!

Just had a wonderful night away with my wife at this fantastic location. We stayed for 1 night on a b/b basis & I have to say the accommodation & food were fantastic! The staff from Stuart & Ian to all the other staff were fabulous & a credit to the Boathouse. We have already recommended the Boathouse to our... More

Special birthday meal spoiled by worst main course ever received in a restaurant. Despite assurances from waitress that meal had loads of beans in bean cassoulet, I had 8 beans and a mountain of peppers which I loathe. To top it off I then spent the night in the loo. The 2 stars was given for service, not the food.... More

A last minute booking for a relaxing night away. From the telephone call to book the room, to the check in, to the restaurant, the staff were friendly and professional. They made you feel like you were the only guests. The room was spacious and clean and we had a beautiful view of the canal and the boats. The meal... More

As the less than imaginative title suggests, we went along (5 of us) for lunch on Sunday - a very busy Sunday, too. So the first high marks are awarded for the staff and management's ability to shoehorn an extra place setting onto our reservation at 5 minutes' notice! It seems to me they've taken real time and trouble to... More

Living in Aberdeen means visiting my Mum in Bishopbriggs needs an overnight stay. We normally stay at the Travel Lodge at Cumbernauld but found details of The Boathouse and decided to give it a try. After a nightmare journey due to a fatal accident on the road we arrived hours later than planned only to find that I had accidentally... More

Family treat and surprise booked for Mother's Day. We travelled 300+ miles to join in the surprise element. We could hardly have been more pleased with the attention of the staff nor with the choice or quality of the meals delivered to us with no fuss. The waitress was happy to offer small tweaks to the menu as displayed -... More

Travelling for business as I do I have had some real horror stories in the past. Needless to say I didn’t find one here. The location for me was great just down the road from Glasgow and with good links to the M8. Being on the canal and at the foot of some beautiful hills its surroundings are breath-taking to... More

Booked for one night's stay and meal for Hogmanay and have to say it's definitely one of the most memorable New Year's eve -nings I've had. My wife and I were given the Clyde room, all rooms are named after canals, and found it spacious, clean and very well presented. I tend to judge a bathroom on its shower and... More
