What an experience! We found this 12th century Jewel on the internet and booked through laterooms.com. A stately home at B/B - Hotel prices. The house was owned by the Ponsenby Fane family and is set in its own estate way back from the main road. When you reach the entrance/gates theres a huge gravel driveway leading up to the... More

My usual hotel - hazelbury mill was full so I looked on late rooms to see what was available. I found Brympton Hall and thought - fab. It looked beautiful and only 10 mins away from where i needed to be near Yeovil. We arrived and I just said "WOW" the sun was shining, it was a beautiful afternoon and... More

Upon arriving at the Brympton House I saw a notice on the door telling me to ring on of there staff members, too which the first staff member (Roman) I got no answer but was able to get in touch with another (Andrew). His welcome was non-existent and his first sentence was to tell me to move my car and... More

The house and grounds of Brympton are beautiful and the room tastefully furnished and comfortable ( we had the family room) right up on the very top floor. We were all out of breath by the time we lugged our bags up numerous flights of stairs! Views over the parapet towards the lake. Breakfast very tasty. Chickens and rooster appreciated... More

i'm going back as soon as i can, before the word gets out about this unique experience and before the owners fix it up to much, its simply charming as it is. it was a bit difficult to find but if you head for odcombe and drive down old lane, you'll find it. Diane the house keeper, was warm and... More

Stayed overnight last night and to say this is work in progress is an understatement. Met by the gardener/handyman and shown to my room. No floor coverings (as advertised) and no chair in the room (as advertised). Very narrow spiral staircase leading to the first floor. It was a comfortable room however once again, although advertised, no wifi available, anywhere.... More

We arrived at Brympton House mid afternoon and walked into the stone building to find no one around we ventured further but no one to be seen, it looked deserted. My husband and I split up and went different ways to find someone, he eventually called out and a lady emerged from an area marked private, up some wooden steps.... More

There really is no point in a couple like this coming to stay at Brympton House. They had not read the description of the property which clearly states that we have no reception desk and are not a hotel! Up until 3 years ago the house was on the EH at risk register and restoration works are still ongoing -... More

We arrived in the early evening at Brympton House, and where overwhelmed by the character and unique setting of this property. This is a very informal and easy-going place with no pretensions. At the same time, it offers guests the opportunity to stay in a very traditional historic house that has survived the past centuries pretty much unchanged. The estate... More

We had booked a room in June for the end of August, for just one night at the end of a 3 weeks stay in England. When we arrived at the hotel, we were received by a younger lady in front of the house. She informed us, that our reservation had been cancelled the day before, because they were over-booked,... More

We stayed here for one night with out 3 and 5 year old children. Once we'd found it (ignore the fact it says PRIVATE on the gates) it was beautiful. Our room on the second floor was reached by a stone spiral staircase and the fact that the floor boards were completely uneven (sloping perhaps six inches across our bathroom)... More
