Though the beach was icy the welcome was warm. Room 4, where we stayed, had views out over the marshes and was beautifully furnished. The food was wonderful and the service friendly. I simply cannot find fault and I would recommend The George to anybody looking for a scenic, romantic escape. More

I stayed at the George for 3 nights in January 12. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Although my friend and I were initially booked into a twin room in the annexe , we swapped rooms into the much, much nicer Cley Suite. The huge white fluffy towels and bedlinen coupled with the beautifully... More

Have just spent a weekend at The George and I can't rate it highly enough. The staff we met were genuinely helpful, efficient and very friendly. The breakfasts were delicious as were the evening meals we had there too. We stayed in the attic (room 9), which had some lovely views of the marshes and Blakeney, it was also extremely... More

We drove along the Norfolk coast and stopped when we found somewhere we wanted to stay. We were greeted at the George by friendly attentive staff who showed us three different rooms from which to choose. We decided upon the most expensive which had an adjoining sitting room, spacious bathroom and views of the marshes (Room 3). We loved it!... More

We visited for lunch on New Years Day and were not expecting to get a table, but the staff were very helpful and found us a table as there were only 2 of us. There was a very warm atmosphere and good choice on the menu. I had the pork roast which was excellent and the seasonal vegetables were cooked... More

A great hotel with fantastic staff in a great location with beautiful views from top floor rooms. I've stayed at some of the top hotels in the world and love this hotel and have been back a few times. Need I say more? It's special every time I go, I love it. More

Only had an evening meal, curry and pint night -£9.95. This include starter with poppadom and home made accompaniments. Followed by Thai Green chicken curry, my wife had cod and prawn curry noodles. Both very nice although my rice was ok but not real pilau rice I think. We both though food was good and really good value. Pint of... More

Just spent a weekend there to celebrate my father's birthday in Cley. The food was lovely, steak needed a sauce, but cooked to perfection. The fish was delicious and the choice of wines just right for the menu. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The rooms we had on the top floor were so comfortable and the views of... More

Had an extremely nice weekend at the George. Stayed in room 3 which is very spacious with a bedroom sitting room and bathroom. The room has wonderful views over the marshes. We were met on arrival by very friendly staff. We ate in the hotel on both nights and the food was very good with local touches such as plenty... More

We visited The George at Cley this week and had booked for 3 nights. I had booked the most expensive room in the hotel at £100 per night for the room which was advertised as having a sitting room attached. The entrance to the hotel is not encouraging. There was a hose and bucket and dirty water by the door... More
