My wife and I and our young boy (15 months old) stayed here recently, and we couldn't be happier. We travelled up from London leaving in 4am as we had a ceremony to attend at 9am in North Wales. We therefore needed early access to our room (no problem) and I had a tired and crotchety baby (no problem) who... More

Staying at Golden Grove, (my second stay) is like going back to a time of elegance, peace and beauty where so many of the lost qualities and values of modern life are re-discovered and re-lived. Welcomed with such warmth and kindness we felt we were an extended family. Dinners in the gorgeous dining room were absolutely outstanding, cooked with vegetables... More

What a fascinating historical house with beautiful gardens with marvellously welcoming hosts who make the place feel like home. The bedroom was enormous with spectacular views, and very comfortably furnished. The guest sitting room was very comfortable, and the dining room was lovely. Local produce ensures the breakfasts are wonderful. If you want a noisy modern bar, and minimalist marble... More

We were getting the ferry to Ireland from Holyhead, and we stayed here on our way out and on our way back. It was brilliant to break the journey form Bristol because we have a small baby. The house and grounds are gorgeous and were made instantly at ease by the warm and friendly owners. the food was fabulous and... More

We found this B&B through the Internet and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this wonderful Elizabethan mansion in the midst of beautiful grounds. We were received by one of the Ann's, who led us to our private quarters, consisting of a large bedroom and adjacent bathroom. After that she showed us to a private sitting room with roaring... More

While the grounds of this Elizabethan manor house are beautifully manicured and charmingly pastoral, the guest rooms are badly in need of an update. Pink seemed to be the theme of our rooms with velvet wallpaper and a shag carpeted bathroom. The decor was reminiscent of the late '70s or early '80s. Our bed was rather hard and uncomfortable. I... Golden Grove is one of the most fascinating places that I have ever stayed in. I grew up about 3 miles from the place but never knew it existed. I have travelled across the world and I am usually disappointed with hotels. This place exceeded all expectations. Golden Grove is an Elizabethan manor house in a great rural location run... More

I have stayed here in the past and every time I am sad to leave. The location is absolutely perfect as are the hosts. The breakfasts are made from local produce with fresh eggs, sausage and bacon. This is a step back into the past and a perfect location to visit North Wales. I would not stay anywhere else. More
