I have stayed at the Blacksmiths arms on numerous occasions, always a great welcome. Great food, try the flipper; Dolphin size fish and chips! Rooms are excellent. Great base to discover York without the parking problems, near to Scarborough and Whitby. Nice golf courses near by, recommend York golf club Strensall. lastly, great value. More

6 of us were out for a reunion meal and had not booked. It was a Friday night and we did wonder if turning up at 8pm was pushing it a bit. The welcome was warm and friendly and although the landlord appologised for us having to sit in the dinning room alone (everyone else was in the bar) it... More

We stayed at the Blacksmiths Arms to attend a local wedding at Sandburn Hall. The location was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The rooms are lovely and we had such a kind, warm welcome from the owners who offered us a lift to save on taxi fares! The breakfast was good. We only stayed for one night and I'm a little... More

A lovely Inn and restaurant, it has only three bedrooms, but this makes it more personal. Andrew and Lorraine are two lovely people who make you feel feel very welcome as soon as you arrive, and nothing is to much trouble for them. We stayed here for two nights on BB&D. Pro's Rooms are very clean, large, plenty of storage... More

We stayed here one night as it was close to Castle Howard. We were greeted with a smile and told that we had been upgraded to the largest room as no one else was staying that night. The room was very large, with comfortable beds and pillows, lots of natural light and comfortable and stylish furniture. The bathroom was also... More

We were only staying here for one night because we were attending a wedding at nearby Sandburn Hall, and so went with no great expectations. In the event we wished we had been staying for longer to do justice to our room and the facilities. Firstly do not be put off by it being a above a pub, this is... More
