We held my husbands birthday meal here, and decided to stay the night too...(despite living quite close). We paid a little extra for a private dining area (The Winston room), which is our favourite...wood panels, white table linen, the works. (There were 16 of us, and we would have disturbed the other diners!). On arrival, we were gobsmacked with how... More

Arrived in a terrific rainstorm and were glad to dry out by welcoming fire in the bar - in May. Enormous room, great view over the garden and sea. Very swish bathroom - by the time we left we'd almost worked out how to use the shower. Decent bar meal and excellent breakfast - not huge choice but very good... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with my family in the Lighthouse Suite, we came to see relations at a dinner arranged by the hotel. This suite is very large and very comfortable, with 4 windows,a marvellous view of the gardens and the sea.It has two flatscreen T.V's, a luxurious bathroom with a walk in shower with a massage option and a whirlpool... We normally stay in 'the lookout', but this time decided on trying 'the lighthouse suite. The receptionist, Lynda - as always gives a warm welcome after the long trek to get there. We love the suite, very clean, spacious and fabulous sea views. However, on closer inspection some of the wallpaper does not match and there are splatters of liquid... More

This was the first time we have stayed at the Sea Marge and were strangers to the surrounding area as well. We were only there for a night but overall were pleased with the hotel, the level of service and quality of food. The building has an interesting history and while it is a bit tatty round the edges in... More

We have stayed there four times now. It is a real relaxing place to stay. It's location leads to the beech with long sandy walks. Just brilliant for a nice break away from the everyday. The staff are polite and friendly. Good value for money, standed rooms, or high quality rooms with great views. Large garden, great food. Can't fault... More

My daughter & I had lunch at the Sea Marge on Mothering Sunday. We felt the meal really was very over-priced for what it was. We had the carvery which was very average (I've had better in pubs & 'lesser' restaurants. The beef was very good & cooked well I will say but the Yorkshire pudding was hard & felt... More

In a world of mediocrity and second-rate service what a breath of fresh air The Sea Marge Hotel is.From the moment of our arrival everything was more than equal to our expectation. We walked into the reception area , spendid architecturally as it is to be met with warm friendliness and utmost professionalism from Susan who couldn't have made us... More

I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions more than once.. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are very attentive and helpful. The overall feel is that of a real country house hotel with great sea views. The hotel has history attached to it. I recently just visited the bar while staying at Danum House nearby. I ordered... Having heard good reports about this hotel and eaten in the sister hotel at the Dales, we booked a room with a sea view for a week. One cannot say this hotel is cheap but we went ahead as we thought we deserved a treat and we thought the price would reflect the finesse and attention. How wrong we were,... More
