We stayed at Congo Bongo in early Feb 2012 and really loved it there. However at this time it was very humid and since there is no air-con, (there is a Fan in the bedroom) some people might be a little put off by the dampness of all clothing. This is the only reason we have not rated it 5,... More

Our arrival at Congo Bongo was two days before New Year's Eve and we stayed just over a week. The experience was quite pleasant and despite some rain our small group (2 adults and 4 teens) had a wonderful time. We used a GPS to navigate our way out of San Jose and were very glad to have it! We... More

We cannot say enough good things about our experience at Congo Bongo! We stayed in Dream House and it's name does not lie! Daan (the owner) and the staff are very friendly and helpful without being the least bit intrusive. The property and walk to the beach are inspired with stunning, old growth trees and lovely plants plus all the... More

Wonderful. My niece and i celebrated my sister's 60th birthday at the Root House. The houses are exactly as they look in the pictures. Very well done, very clean and very unique. The first night was a bit unsettling with the howler monkeys "howling" and the tree frogs. After that I fell in love with the place. Hummingbirds all over... More

I am quite shocked about the review below as it is in total contrast to our experience. If their house was wet it was probably because it had rained before. After all it was the rainy season. Bugs, you would expect them in the rainforest and come prepared. The boardwalk to the beach got a bit slippery after the rain... More

I've never reviewed anything before, and when I read bad reviews on here I think that they must be the sort of people that send meals back at resturants all the time. I assure you, I'm not that person... this was a horrible experience. Congo Bongo was our last stop after 2 great weeks in Costa Rica, and it was... More

Daan and his staff at Congo Bongo helped us have the most amazing family vacation of our lives. Friendly knowledgable staff. The grounds at Congo Bongo are imacculantly kept, and absolutely gorgeous. Jose, the night guard is fantastic. He is always willing to help no matter the situation, and gives you a sense of security in an unfamiliar place. Our... More

Arrived in the last week in November. First day was nice, but the rain started that night and didn't stop. We later found out that when it is sunny on the Pacific it is rainy on the Carribean. The house was really lovely, but you really have to want to stay in the jungle. It is about a 10 min... More

Me and my fiance recently stayed at the River House for a five-night stay. The pics I've seen of this place by fellow travelers are very true to what it looks like, very open and unique. The property is large, with nicely spaced homes, the only fault with the River House is that it is so close to the parking... More

This place was absolutely everything my husband and I thought it was going to be! We stayed here for one week for our honeymoon and we still weren't ready to leave when the time came. Who needs a tv when you've got all of nature literally at (and inside!) your front door! We had so much fun just sitting around... More
