one of the most unique places we stayed over 3 weeks of Andalusian travel - built by the owner featuring an exterior of chiseled Andalusian stone. Comforts inside were well attended with modern baths and kitchen. Cozy underfloor heating plus fireplaces added to charm. Absolutely quiet from city noise (except for gun shot blasts across the valley lol ), brilliant... More

We loved our accommodation at the Cortijo Prado Toro! The cortijo is located off the main road, bordering on a natural park, so the surroundings are simply beautiful. We stayed in the flat called El Estudio, which was very spacious and nicely decorated with beautiful wooden furniture in Al-Andalus style. It also had a small terrace with beautiful views of... More

Can't fault this place. The apartments are like mini cottages with log fires (the logs are extra). We were there in April and although we didn't need the fire as the apartment was heated, it was a lovely addition. Our apartment was the attic one and had an amazing terrace with wonderful views. Ludwig was helpful, giving us lots of... More

Having just spent five days at Cortijo Prado Toro I cannot recommend it highly enough. The location is beautiful and the views from the Cortijo are amazing, it is the perfect place to unwind. The owner, Ludwig, was always on hand to offer advice on the local area, but was never intrusive - a perfect balance. The attic apartment (one... More

Quiet location, large comfortable apartment with excellent views, high in the mountains above Pitres and Capileira. Friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable owner Ludet, speaks English, Spanish German. Great walks from back door. Also stayed 3 nights in Ludet's Bubion village house, also quiet and comfortable with views to drink in, but a few mins walk from bars/restaurants. Trevor and Jane More

Buried out of sight on a hillside site that gives instant access to perfect walks over the tops to welcoming whitewashed villages, Cortijo Prado Toro is a very special place to stay in a still unspoilt region of age-old irrigation channels and horse chestnut forests. Neither of us are mountaineers and precipices bring out vertigo in one of us, so... More

What a wonderful experience. So peaceful. A perfect spot in the middle of the Sierra Nevada's. The owner was so helpful, the apartment was cleaner then my mother's house, hard to do. The views just breathtaking, and so so quiet! . The property was just beautiful and for me I really hope to return there as a vacation to just... More

We are just back from a week staying at Prodo Toro with our two sons (9 and 5). We have only praise and can truly say it’s the most beautiful and welcoming home. El Taller itself was extremely comfortable and well equipped, the grounds beautiful and inviting and the scenery and views uplifting and relaxing. Ludet is the most welcoming... More

This mountain retreat was what we expected and more. The photographs on the sites don't quite do it justice as once you are there the feeling that you get from the surroundings is breathtaking. Our accommodation was very well thought out and very comfortable (and private). We were there early September when the temperatures were beginning to cool but were... More

We loved Cortijo Prado Toro and would highly recommend it. Lovely, peaceful and serene and Ludet is a very helpful and informative owner and host who goes out of his way to be of assistance. Great supermarket in Pitres where you can shop and stock up provisions if you are tired of eating out. Nice atmpospheric cottages where you can... More
