The interior landscaping is delightful however the hotel is in Darwin, which means that, compared to most of the rest of the world, it is expensive for what it offers. For good value, try San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, Florence, you get the idea. On top of that, the 1.5 acre building site adjacent the room is unpleasant. Construction will continue... More

The room we booked was suposed to be a studio apartment but was actually only a double bedroom size with half the wardrobe converted to contain fridge, toaster, crockery and electric jug. The bathroom was very narrow and difficult to move around in. During our week stay the linen was only changed once and we were only supplied with one... More

We arrived at approx. 1.30am and accessed our rooms easily, finding our key in the key safe with the code given to us by Alkira Management. We were informed there was not a 24-hour reception. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The grounds are large with numerous palm trees and tropical plants and lush gardens. There are lots... More

I travel a lot for work, and this hotel is easily the worst I have ever visited. I had a similar experience to previous posters - when my flight arrived early in the morning I was locked out on the street for hours in an unsafe area, with my suitcase and laptop, despite having informed management about my arrival time.... The female manager was one of the most rude people I have ever met! She was very disrespectful to us and treated us terrible. The so-called "continental breakfast" is a brown bag with 1 yoghurt, 1 cereal box and 1 full-cream milk inside. The so-called "spa/pool" is a dirty tank and the so-called "gym" is a tiny concrete room with... More

Stayed here courtesy of Quantas after being stranded in Oz due to volcanic activity in Europe. The manager and her staff were extremley friendly and went out to there way to make us welcome, even booking day trips on our behalf. The rooms are fairly small but are stylishly furnished and decorated as is the rest of the complex. Bogarts... More

After we picked up our hire car, my husband and I arrived late in the afternoon to a very friendly welcome from the manager of the complex. The accommodation was a very tasteful refurbished hotel style room with a spa bath bathroom. It had a small table and two chairs and this was appreciated as we were able to eat... More

when we booked ,the female manager had rang us and told us a pin number to access the safe to get our key which we were very pleased about as we didnt want to wake any one up at that time, when we enter we were so pleased to be down near the pool area,a lovely spot, the rooms are small but... More

I stayed at Alkira Darwin for the first time recently. My three-night stay was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every facet of it. Alkira, in its present form, has been operating for only 12 months. The property has been completely refurbished and the rooms are beautifully appointed with quality furnishings, fixtures & fittings. The gardens and grounds are truly... More

Worst place I have ever stayed, and so expensive. We paid $195 for a "twin room" which consisted of 2 beds a few inches apart, a small surface for making tea (the kettle etc were in the only drawers). The bathroom was so small that the door hung sideways and clattered whenever you went in. The manager was rude right... More
