This is a great place! And homestay is a fantastic option.
We stayed with Gyatso and his family which included his wife, his parents, two dogs and five cats! And Gyatso's friend also dropped in .. We set to explore Dzongu .. Sat by the river and stood under a waterfall .. It was F-U-N .. :)
Awesome local food too .. which included salty tea and finger sized bananas!
We stayed there for 2 days ... initially we were a bit concerned about our privacy etc. but it didn't prove to be an issue .. the place, Dzongu, is almost un-touched and off the beaten path. This place hardly sees any tourists. We didn't get to go to Treks though, because of time limitation, which was too bad because later Gyatso showed us some images of the place and we almost cried seeing the beauty of the higher reaches of Dzongu ..
Go there if you like to go to quiet places but love to talk to the locals to get to know their way of life .. More
