We stayed for 2 nights and found that the remark made by the author of the Rough Guide to Kerala could not have been more wrong when they wrote that Thalassery was not worth a detour! As other reviews have all confirmed the Ayisha Manzil is a big old fashioned, traditional and charming colonial house set on the shores of... More

We have just returned from our holiday in Kerela. We arrived at Tellicherry railway station after a fascinating train journey for a one night stay before moving on to our next destination. Our taxi was a very old Hindustan Ambassador based on a Morris Oxford. This was an experience in itself! Mr Moosa greeted us on our arrival and offered... More

Ayesha Manzil was the last stop on our Kerala tour and we had an all too brief one night here. This is the large, traditional family home of Mr and Mrs Moosa and a stay here allows you to experience a more authentic experience in Kerala in a small town with a colourful history rarely visited by tourists. It feels... More

After a warm welcome we were shown our accommodation and we said WOW a huge bedroom a large dressing area and a large bathroom. Food was very good and we eat outside with our fellow guests enjoying the wonderful view. Early one morning we were taken to the local fish market to select fish for our breakfast and whilst there... After the hospitality tranquil resort we were a bit taken aback by the rather austere Mr Mooza First no welcoming drink no host/hostess only staff The first room offered was full of creepy crawlies so we asked to move No apologies forthcoming Given a downstairs rear room much quieter too ..however all old /rather than antiquated furntiture ..no where comfortable... Beautiful house....gorgeous room....perfect hosts....friendly staff....delicious food....local Theyyam festival was one of the best things I've experienced in India! A holiday within our holiday. A very special place - untouched Kerala! I really don't think I need to say anymore!

Haven't visited yet, would love to based on the reviews and web site but unfortunately it is in Kannur rather than Calicut/Kozhikode, which although it seems to share a postal district is one and a half hours away by car. Please change this misdirection as it cost me over an hour of webtime trying to find it on the map!!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here, our room was full of character with very comfortable beds, mosquito nets and very welcome air conditioning!! We enjoyed Faiza's cooking and the trip to the vegetable and fish markets with Moosa was very interesting. It was nice to have a swim in the pool and chat with the other guests at mealtimes.... More

This old family home has enormous bedrooms, en suite shower rooms and antique furniture. Because it is old, it does not have all the mod cons of a luxury hotel (for instance, the lighting wasn't brilliant) but it is far more interesting. There is also a newer annex which we didn't see. The food here is wonderful and a highlight... More

This was our first stay in a Southern Indian Homestay and we were not dissappointed. Ayesha Manzil is a large old Colonial house, it is run by Faiza Moosa and her husband. They have 9 staff who look after your every need. There are 6 very large guest rooms all of which have ensuite bathrooms and air conditioning, furnished in... More
