We were walking from Settle to Appleby and this was our final night. We had just come over the Howgills from Sedbergh and were welcomed at Brownber with delicious home made cakes and tea on the south facing terrace. Lovely stay due to the comfortable room, enthusiatsic and knowledgable host and great breakfast (esp the scrambled eggs!!!). Spent a day walking up Green Bell and then the following morning a relaxed stroll to the nearby viaduct, which we would highly recommend.
