I phoned on a Sunday morning to book a table for Monday evening in the last week before Christmas. The land lady told me that she hadn't planned to open the restaurant that evening, but would do so for us. Upon our arrival on the Monday evening we were greeted warmly by the staff, other customers, and a delightful log... More

My brother and I thought we give this pub a try as it looks so nice on the outside.First ,the landlady's attitude was not welcoming and there was no other staff.Piped music in the part where we sat,but her son had a huge TV on in the next room and the ice machine made a terrific clatter every few minutes.Decor... We'd been on a boat for 3 days when the wind picked up to 60 mph, so we moored in the shelter of Womack Staithe. We walked to Potter Heigham and found ourselves in the Falgate. There was a comical discussion between us all about Ratatouille, an offer from the landlady to use her bathroom facilities & hairdryer etc AND... More

Staying just 20 minutes away on the river, we wandered in on a Saturday evening at 6pm hoping for a table - it was early after all, but it was fully booked. We did later book in and had a very nice meal. In fact, the Sirloin steak I had was one of the best steaks I've had - ever.... More

We had been customers at the Falgate for years and enjoyed many great meals there BUT. On our wedding anniversary we went there as a party of 10. Service was slow and we are used to waiting for freshly cooked food so the wait is usually worth it. Starters came and were up to the mark but the main courses... More

Stayed there for two nights recently. The landlady and staff made us very welcome. The food was fantastic - ask for the ribs especially. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were done in individual styles and all were very clean - we stayed in the pink one!! Would recommend for the hospitality alone! More

Great family run Inn with a very warm welcome. The food was excellent with a good varied evening menu of honest british meals. Basic room but budget price and all we needed. Lovely landlady. Good local beers and ciders. Only comment would be that the bathroom had a mould problem, but then it's an old pub........... More

A traditional country pub set in the Norfolk Broads. Accommodation is basic, rough around the edges, yet functional. If you're looking for luxury, pay more, and go somewhere else! Food is excellent, typical pub fayre, the night we stayed they were fully booked. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast included in tariff. Plenty of parking, close to many... More
