Ian & Jane are the type of people you would love to have as your neighbours. They are pleasant, thoughtful and have a great sense of humour. Join them in the communal kitchen for a great full English. You have a really good choice and it is just like your Mum cooks at home!!! If you want an en suite then this is not for you as the communal bathroom is just a short walk away from your room which i must admit could have done with a bit of a clean. However, this does not detract from a pleasant stay. Try theBridge Inn just over the railway line and down the hill to the right. It has been untouched since the year dot has a great atmosphere and there is a superb range of real ales available and the pub is the only one in England visited by Royalty. Access to Exeter is superb from No.7 with the railway station over the road. We parked up when we arrived and took the train everywhere. It is not expensive, saves car parking fees and is certainly less stressful on the driver. Well done Ian... more

A great little b&b in Topsham, nr Exeter, just the 2 bedrooms (with shared bathroom) on the top floor of a lovely Victorian house, stuffed full of character. Bedrooms are comfortable with tea making facilities and great value for a b&b. Our hosts Ian and Jane couldn't be more welcoming and are very hospitable. Breakfasts are wonderfuI and Ian cooks a mean Jamie Oliver pancake in the morning. There is also plenty of choice of fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfasts, the aforementioned pancakes, homemade marmalade (recommended) for breakfast which is taken in their lovely, large kitchen overlooking the garden. If you ask, Ian will also take you out in his side car attached to his 50s motorbike and whisk you round Topsham which is great fun.

Fab location next to train station, so you can just leave the car for the weekend and head into Exeter and go cycling along the canals or catch the train to Exmouth. Would recommend Marcello's Restaurant in Topsham, great...
