We stayed for 1 night in the Café Krieghoff for some sightseeing in Québec City. We liked the surrondings of the B&B: The neighborhood is very lively with a lot of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and bars. However, it is not directly close to the major attractions (the walk to the old city is around 20 min). With some luck, free... More

10 minutes walking from the heart of Quebec city this amazing place with a cafeteria is the perfect place to choose. Rooms are neat and tidy with all that you may need for a perfect staying, bathroom is really like your own and bed are very big and comfortable. Suggestion: ask for room #2 cafeteria downstairs is a very nice... More

Café Krieghoff is located on a street outside the walls, which I found perfect. I could easily walk into the old town (15 mins) and it's nice to leave all touristic things behind for a while. Because there are lots of tourists in Québec... The hotel is located in a lively street and you can easily find many restaurants in... More

Located on a very popular street and above a cozy Café, this hotel offers nice and comfortable rooms at a fair price (for an Inn) steps away from the main tourist attraction of Quebec city. More

We only ate dinner here, and our meals were very good. We both had fresh salmon, and we ate every morsel, including the rice and veggies. Service was so-so. The place is crowded and busy. Our 2 disappointments came, first, from Fodor's or Frommer's (I forget which) which lists Cafe Kr. as "inexpensive." It is not. Secondly, this is probably... More

We wanted to stay here for location and breakfast, based on reviews in Lonely Planet, Fodor's. Made reservation on the phone evening before arrival, and after a 6 hour drive we arrive to find out they gave our reservation to an Internet customer. Okay, they made us an alternate reservation at a neighboring place and even gave us a free... More

I did not stay at the B&B - I just went for breakfast. My girlfriend and I had read nothing but great reviews of the breakfast at Cafe Krieghoff all over the net so we decided to try it. We waited at the door for 10 mins for a table even though there were plenty of clean ones ready. When... More

It was my first time in Quebec city and I wanted to stay somewhere close to Old Quebec. However, after countless days of searching the internet, all the prices I found for the "nicer" hotels seemed a little outrageous for a three day weekend. So we started looking into B&B's. Many of them were already booked but I stumbled upon... More

I just spent a perfectly lovely weekend in Quebec City and I have to say, one of the highlights was definitely staying at Cafe Krieghoff. HIGHLIGHTS: (1) Location, Location, Location - situated in the heart of the stylish Avenue Cartier where you can find a mix of reasonably priced restaurants and bars, groceries and specialty food shops, hair salons, pharmacy,... From the minute we attempted to check in to the moment we left--a span of 24 hours--we were treated with rudeness and disdain. Language problem maybe? Nope. We both speak French. Also the supposed B&B breakfast included was a ruse: you got a voucher for a fixed amount to be used in the restaurant downstairs. In oder to check in,... More
