Since this was my first time in Montreal and I don't speak French, I chose a name I can trust--Marriott. The staff was bilingual and friendly from the valet parking attendant to the front desk clerk, to the restaurant staff. Breakfast buffet was well stocked, even had salmon. Decor was heavy and some would consider it dated but it was... more

I highly commend the management staff for their professionalism, repsonsiveness and class. I'm a road-weary business traveller who flys continentally. I'm at the end of my tether often by the time I've crossed 3 time zones and hit 5 cities to check in to my last hotel. I can't praise the Marriott staff enough. I had an incident with my... more

Great place, it is centrally located. The staff on site are all friendly and prompt with anything you may need. However, and maybe this is because I am used to the smaller Marriotts (Fairfield Inns, Courtyards, etc..) but the amenities weren't parrallel. For instance, in that WHOLE hotel there was no microwave for guests to use (ideal for poor college... more

Stayed 2 nights experiencing great valet service, sufficiently sized, clean west facing room, super concierge lounge. Only annoying thing was the concierge attendant was unusually loud in the morning with her tour/trip arrangement discussions with other guests. Staff was friendly with excellent service. Good location for downtown Crescent street night life and shopping. Block or so from to the train... more

As It was my first time in Montreal, I was really looking forward to discover the city. The Marriot was a great place to stay for this! It's near by the Centre Bell, a street down from La Rue St. Catherine which was filled with shopping stores and boutiques. Arriving in the Marriot, it was such a delightful feeling. Everything... more

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau Champlain for 5 nights in August - he was in town for a conference and I worked remotely from the hotel for the week. The other reviews are on point - dated decor, rooms aren't especially large. I was fortunate to have a room with a view of the park across the... more

The hotel has Romanesque Revival (or Neo-Romanesque) style arch windows, at least in my room. Lobby area is also very stylishly decorated. I read in Wiki that this hotel was completed in 1967 in time for Montreal World Expo that year. You'll see the decor fits right in. Room and bed is very comfy. On the high floor overlooking Montreal... more

We just returned from a trip to Montreal, where we stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Overall it is a very nice hotel and we would stay again. The location is pretty good (The hotel is directly over the Metro - something extremely convenient) and is right next to both Old Montreal and Downtown. Also, there is a Starbucks in... more

I had a room near the top of the hotel. The views outside were excellent, but the interior was just shabby and a little tired. Service was courteous but unfriendly. I would not choose this hotel for my next trip more
