I recently stayed 6 nights at the HI Toronto while in town for a travel blogging conference. It featured strong wi-fi in both the common areas, basement restaurant, and my room (501). I enjoyed my stay overall at HI Toronto and believe I truly "got what I paid for." To be fair, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, which really made the overall vibe very warm and comfortable. Regardless, the bedding/bedrooms/bathrooms were very basic. The WIFI was good and the location was great.

Clean rooms, Bathrooms less so. Music in the communal areas was a tad annoying when trying to skype. Basement bar is a nice idea. Friendly, informative staff. Hopp across to the market near by - bustling with amazing food vendors. If you are canny, you don't have to pay for lunch with the free tasters you pick up!

HI Toronto is one of the best. Great atmosphere, great amenities and plenty of activities to join. The reception staff are exceptional and the cleaners always cheerful. The Cavern Cafe; is a must: just chat with the manager Gwen and you'll feel right at home, all while she cooks you a delicious breakfast.
