The Inn on Somerset is a delightful B&B in Ottawa. Superb breakfasts, comfortable rooms, great hosts, lots of knick knacks and memorabilia all over the place. Recommend it highly ... and the prices are pretty good too. More

I have used the inn’s own description because it is spot on. The Victorian decor is a feast for the eyes and what a great location – it’s a 15min walk to the canal or head either way to Rue Elgin or Rue Bank for places to eat. Richard, the host, is unassuming and he cooks a mean breakfast -... More

Richard, the innkeeper was extremely gracious. He was very open to answering questions about dining, transportation and sightseeing. The inn is beautiful, very well-appointed and with such an attention to detail. Richard made full-course and delicious breakfasts every morning. I was traveling alone and was made to feel very comfortable and welcome. I would stay there again and would definitely... More

Had a very pleasant stay, Richard was very friendly and accommodating – I arrived into town at 9am, and was able to leave my bags there. I was also upgraded to a much larger room with a small sunroom off to the side that was very nice. A copy of the most recent gay newspaper was on the bed as... More

We stayed one night in this lovely Victorian building located a short walk from all the major attractions in Ottawa. VERY clean rooms and bathrooms: each room is decorated with lots of antiques and old photographs and paintings, but no dust ! Despite the relatively small size of our room, it had a very comfy double bed, two side tables... More

Within walking distance of everything. The place was beautiful. The service was incredible. Great hearty breakfasts available every morning. Richard was very knowledgeable and quick with neighborhood suggestions. More

Found the Inn on Somerset on Trip Adviser, and needed a place in downtown Ottawa for a quick weekend visit in December. As it happened, bad weather had hit and my friend and I almost had the place to ourselves for the weekend. The house is a beautiful old Victorian with lots of character but also nice upgraded bathrooms and... More

The B&B is located in a very nice victorian character house. The B&B keepers are very friendly and open to give suggestions or to answer questions. There are multiple rooms which you can make use of when being there. The room was very cosy and spacious. Breakfast was surprising (eggs Benedict!) but original. More

We spent one night at the Inn on Somerset, and were very pleased with the service, the cleanliness and the quality of this bed and breakfast. We booked online via hotels.ca, and paid about $112 per night on a weekday in August. We reserved a basic room with a shared washroom. These rooms looked very nice, and even the shared... More

We stayed one night at this inn perfectly located in the heart of Ottawa's gay village. The host, Richard, offered a very warm welcome and provided us with a surprise upgrade to room 7, which was most thoughtful. The room has a fireplace, ensuite bathroom, and access to a large deck. Unfortunately, the view from the deck is an ugly... More
