Risley Hall single dorm room contained a single bed, small desk, washbasin, cupboard and free WiFi. Staff was very friendly, the dorm was quiet and the shower facilities were spotless. The location is somewhat far from Downtown, impersonal and not the place to stay if you want to meet other people. No breakfast available. More

Stayed at Dal at the beginning and end of our holiday. The first time we were put up at Risley Hall, which was a very decent experience given the location and price. My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights at Howe Hall(Henderson House) to explore the University and Halifax. Room was dismal - cracked wood paneling above the bed, could use paint before summer rentals. Piece of advice, if you have the chance to stay somewhere else, do so. You might save money by staying here but in mu opinion, it's not worth it. We stayed at Fenwick place, and paid extra for an apartment, so we could do some of our own meals. It was hard to do when we walked into a bare apartment. It had basic furniture, and that is it.
