My BF and I have travelled extensively (Canada, US, Asia, Europe, Caribbean) and neither of us will stay at the Guv'nor again. My six year old son looked in the bathroom and said "Mama, it looks GERMY!". The duvets on the bed were full of lumps, and the shower didn't work correctly. This hotel was overall dirty and in need of work. The staff were friendly, the bed comfortable and it was easy to get to the hotel but that would not be enough for me to return. The main hallway smelled strongly of bbq sauce at one end and of cooking ground beef at the other (for a number of nights).... more
This is an adequate, reasonably-priced hotel in St. John's, the provincial capital of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is close to the University and main hospital, but relatively far from tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. This motel/inn - was excellent. We stayed for 5 nights this summer while attending a motorcycle rally in St John's. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this inn - we had a great time.
