As B and B's go, this one is above average. The room and bed were comfortable with a nice view of the harbour. There's a nice orientation folder re St. John's which we found helpful. The breakfasts were generous and tasty as were the afternoon cookies. Wanda and Bill were helpful in everyway and very pleasant. The towels and bathrobes... More

We stayed at the Chef's Inn during our first trip to St. John's in August of 2012. Bill and Wanda were extremely accommodating hosts. They graciously accommodated our late arrival (1:00 a.m.). Our room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to organize and feel at home for the four nights we were there. The food was excellent, and... More

My husband and I had never been to Newfoundland and were fortunate enough to be invited to a wedding in St. John's in early September. The wedding group suggested we stay at a large chain hotel, but hearing about St. John's infamous hospitality we thought we would stay at a B&B. We chose The Chef's Inn based on another traveler's... The Chef's Inn was our first stop on our recent 12 day trip to Newfoundland. Chef Todd was there to greet us upon our arrival as he had given his parents, Bill and Wanda, a few days off :). There were 4 of us travelling and we had 2 rooms booked. Originally, we were told that because they were so... More

Spent 3 nights at this B&B. Perfect location for touring, you can walk everywhere. Wanda and Bill are the perfect hosts.Breakfasts are ample and the baking left out in the afternoon is a real treat. We stayed in the Cubby room with a view of the harbour.

We stayed 2 nights in a different room each night. Due to the popularity of the place it was not possible to stat in the same room for both nights. The central location meant we could walk to many popular places in St. John's including George Street. Breakfasts were excellent.

Good food, spacious bedroom with the basics but everything you need. The window allowed a lovely breeze to enter every night. The last review mentioned cleanliness. Although I did notice how spotted up the front of the vanity was in the bathroom, everything else was clean. The house is spacious and lovely inside. Breakfasts were excellent with a buffet every... In July 2012, I stayed at the Chef's Inn for 3 nights in the Linnay Room. I agree with most of the positive comments stated in the other reviews but as I have used TripAdvisor on many occasions to plan my vacations, I would be remiss if I did not mention how absolutely horrified I was at how dirty the... Bill and Wanda were great hosts, the room was good with a nice view of the harbor, the breakfast had great variety and George Street was only a 15 minute walk. We were in 4 bars over 3 nights enjoying great music, drink and food
