We decided to have our wedding and reception at the inn because we had heard great things about the proprietors Ralph and Karen Holyoke. As other reviews have noted, they are the nicest, most helpful persons you could imagine. Ralph handled many of the details of the wedding relieving us of much of the stress. Karen was gracious and always... More

We spent one night at this warm and friendly B & B. When we got there we had been traveling for a few days so we had lots of luggage, so we were pleased to see the owners had built a stair case to the front door with luggage in mind! The stairs were very shallow and easy to navigate.... More

Hospitable hosts provided a warm welcome to this beautiful home. The rooms are graciously furnished with thoughtful touches. A lovely breakfast prepared by Ralph who not only served but also shared his knowledge of the history of Saint John. The location is convenient to most everything in the city and has a nice view of the harbour. Well worth the... More

My husband and I spent one night at Homeport at the beginning of a two week trip through the maritimes. A convenient stop for the night en route from Bangor, ME to Prince Edward Island, this B&B was one of the most personable and cozy we have ever experienced. With our luggage lost and back in Bangor, the innkeepers made... More

For my first visit to Canada you could not ask for a warmer welcome or more helpful hosts. Breakfast was heartwarming Canadian fare with other guests. The rooms seemed to be quite true to time but with important modern conveniences. The B & B is located on a quiet, pleasant street. The living area is beautiful. From many rooms in... More

We were pleasantly surprized by this B&B in Saint John, NB. The rooms are spacious, floors are nicely covered in new carpets (I hate smelly old carpets). The old character of the enormous old homes has been preserved and lovely antiques are in every room. However, the antiques are not frilly junky stuff which I find objectionable. It was tasteful... Thank you for the kind review and comments Sorry about the old style shower controls. They are a tad complicated with taps and 2 shutoffs for the spout and the shower head and they all have to be set right so it will operate. Rest assured the unit is working properly but we have removed the shower head shut off... More

Very nice heritage home, beautiful instead, very large, nice owner. It's on a hill so there is a nice view. You even get a view from the bench in the back yard. We stayed in the rose room and it was very nice. Perfect location to get to the ferry in the morning. There was a good hot breakfast with... More

The building is impressive as is the added central room. The breakfast was mediocre, as was the suite. Hardwood floors appear clean but the carpets in the bedroom were very dirty on the perimiter and under registers all areas easily accessed with cleaners - plus on hearth. The bathroom was pathetic. Had we paid the rack we would not have... More

As the builder / owner /operator innkeeper of the Homeport for the past 14 years I have felt every review has potential as a tool for us to improve our service or facility or for prospective guests to understand our property but after a few days contemplation I fail to see the merit in this particular review. This guest stayed... More

This was a lovely place to stay, we were there 3 nights, and found it comfortable, and the breakfasts were great. Ralph is a good cook and he loves to talk to you while he is making breakfast. He has good advice on what to see and importantly ,where the better restaurants are. As we were there in the very... More

Firtly, we must say the the hosts were simply wonderfull , Karen helped no end, particularly with driving instructions, given the number of major road works in Saint John, room ( Garden Room ) was not great , but we did request a twin & i guess that's all they had, beds a were a little small for my frame... Hi and Thank you for the review. Sorry your room did not live up to your expectations. Your comment that the Garden room was not great is a dissapointment to us but I am not sure why. It is clearly marked and shown in photos to be a room with twin beds and you commented that you requested a room... More
