Despite the negative reviews I decided to stay here because the pics looked really nice. But beware that they are deceiving!!! I'm unsure of the smoking laws in Manitoba but in Ontario you are not allowed to smoke a certain distance from the entrance to a building. I like it for what it is - a period piece that was a grand hotel in it's day that retains some of it's best features while still keeping up with the times. The best and friendliest service that I've ever received in any hotel I've stayed worldwide but the hotel itself is old and dank. Restaurant offers a first-rate buffet lunch. The best room rate in Winnipeg and a great location makes the Marlborough a great choice if you aren't fussy. more
