We where staying in the suite with an amazing view on the 17th floor. Everyone was helpful and the location was amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was not spetacular, except for the view and clives was lacklustre. Our final night the lounge was understaffed and the server told us that we wouldn't like a drink when asked for it.... More

First time to Canada and took a chance and blindly reserved a room at Chateau Victoria. Best chance I took. The room was more than spacious, clean, comfortable. Everything I needed to relax and start my vacation right. Even better was the friendliness of the staff with patience with all the questions I asked. They gave me good advice and... More

Old hotel that's been recently renovated, rooms are decent and comfortable but still feel a bit tired. Staff were neutral, not overly friendly but not rude either. Room was cleaned well and the breakfast at the restaurant was a good value. Probably would look to stay somewhere else for our next trip to the island.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights May 25-28. Very comfortable stay for an anniversary trip. The room was large (we had a corner unit higher up with an excellent view) and roomy. The a/c unit is on wheels which can be redirected but it would have been nicer to have one in the bedroom and one in the... More

From the newly renovated room to the surprisingly good (and reasonable) room service, this place is a gem. Great location a couple of blocks from the inner harbour and tourist Mecca shopping areas. Charming and helpful staff. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Flat screen tv. Fridge. Coffee maker and kettle. A couple of small issues, but not a deterrent by any means:... More

I stayed here for a week recently and it was a great experience. The rates are very reasonable, the location is perfect (downtown), the amenities are excellent, and the staff are very kind and friendly. My booking consisted of a king bed, another room with a small workspace, a tv and a pull out couch for additional guests. There was... More

I should preface this by saying that I had originally booked a room and was upgraded to a junior suite. This, of course, made my stay all the more pleasant since the suites are one bedroom apartments with service. Besides that, however, it should be said that the staff of this hotel is just great. The service is friendly, efficient,... More

This hotel has really large rooms (many suites), great service, and a great location. It is very clean and quiet, and has a great incentive program for frequent travellers (one free night for every ten nights stayed). It is really close to everything in downtown Victoria, and some of the rooms have great views. It is not high-end luxurious, but... More

Great Review kmc1971, I appreciate getting the perspective of a business traveler on Trip Advisor. We have a large number of reviews from leisure travelers, which is great but about 40% of our guests are here on business and it is good to get their perspective too. I'm glad to see you note service right in the title. More

The service at this hotel was absolutely over the top wonderful - particularly Roy. If you're having any problems or need help with anything, ask for Roy! We had a misunderstanding booking the penthouse suite and the Roy and the rest of the staff really took care of us. The views from the 16th floor penthouse suite are fantastic if... More

Thank you for the write up MeemstersTrips. Ill make sure Roy gets a copy. Roy can sing as well but doesn't like me telling everyone:) I agree with you on the splurging for a suite. They are the best value in town I would think. More

Stayed here three nights. Upgrade to a Jr. Suite only cost around $10 extra a night, and includes a full kitchen, dining nook, living room and bedroom. Well worth it! Location can't be beat -- a block behind the Empress but on a quiet street. Two blocks to fantastic restaurants, the Royal Provincial Museum, the waterfront. Very comfortable bed, lots... More

Thank you wmleler for taking the time to review our hotel. Upgrades are worth it and I know our guests just enjoy themselves more with the extra space and better views. Our traditional rooms are brand new but there is still nothing like being up high in a suite overlooking the harbour, downtown or Beacon Hill Park. The Junior suites... More
