This sandman property was great! we used our lucky 13th night and were upgraded to the honeymoon suite - this was great as it was our anniversary. This hotel has a great location in downtown GP. There are restaurants, stores, gas stations, grocery, bars etc nearby and it's located just off the main strip that heads to the airport. When I checked in I was greeted by Jen, the on duty manager at the time. She seems to be an expert at making guests feel at home... More

I have stayed here 3 times, when I have been unable to get reservations at my prefered hotel. It is overpriced, but so is everything in GP! They are constantly building hotels in this city, and they are constantly booked solid, so they can charge what they like. The location is good as it it easy go pretty much anywhere... More

It did not have the frills of the other place I stayed in GP, i.e., pool, super large conference rooms, etc.. But then again, I did not need those. My only complaint would be that the wireless internet was slow at times. But if it got too slow, I would just go down to the business center and use the... More

Grande Prairie shows many of the problems associated with excessive economic growth. One of these is a shortage of hotel rooms allows hotels to charge exorbitant rates, with a night in the Grande Prairie Holiday Inn costing almost twice as much as a night at the Edmonton Westin. This problem may be accentuated by the near-monopoly in hotels enjoyed by... More

While being transferred to GP, we had to wait for our furniture to arrive. So we booked a stay at the Sandman in Grande Prairie. We had an executive Queen room, which was spacious, with a kitchenette, sitting / living room and seperate bedroom. The room was clean and very nice. The only drawback was it was located directly above... More
