We just made a flying trip in and out of Calgary. The Sandman is not a hotel we would normally choose but it was late, we were without a reservation, it was cold, rainy and fortunately there was room for us at the inn. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully... More

My husband and I stayed here in June 2011 and we really liked the hotel. We arrived late but they still had a king room waiting for us, so we were pleasantly surprised! The rooms are spacious and very clean and the black-out blinds let us sleep in after a long trip. In the morning when we got up, I... More

Stayed three consecutive nights. Property is nice, clean, good location. Check in was difficult. Front desk staff seemed in pain to serve us. Key access for elevator is very cumbersome, especailly if you dont carry your key with you at all times and there is more than two in your party. Very sour staff member named B___i Should be working... More

Stayed with a hockey team at end of April. Nice newer propety, clean modern, comfortable. Close to tons of shopping and restaurants as well as easy access to arenas for our games. The only issue is they seem to be understaffed at the front counter and often only one person working at check in and check oiuts. there was often... More

We stayed for $133 with taxes and checked in late which meant our room was beside the elevator and ice machine (which didn't work all that well). The noise wasn't bothersome during the night, but one could here the elevator from the room. The room was not totally clean - pubic hair in the shower and I don't think the... More

Imagine walking into a nice lobby and then being humiliated by a really "dumb" and lazy front desk clerk. She took my credit card and within a few seconds advised me that the card was refused and she would not be able to give me a room. "Would you please call Visa so we can clarify the situation - my... Hello, without a guest name and date of check in, this makes it very difficult to assist with this review. If I can get more information, it would be very helpful to assist. We have recevied numerous guest service awards along with being nominated for the prestigious White Hat Award for excellence in guest service. If the Reviewer is able... More

Stayed one night in february 2012 at the Sandman to watch a Flames game. Very nice and helpful staff at the reception, nice and clean rooms. Hotel is situated next to the city rail, which takes you easily around downtown and around in Calgary. The Sandman is a good choice for an affordable down town hotel in Calgary. More

My husband came to Calgary on business and the kids and I tagged along. We were in for 4 nights in a 'family suite'. The kids, 4 and 1 stayed in the bunk beds -- both bunkbeds had a safety railing so we were confident they weren't going to fall or roll out. (they didn't, haha). Can I add the... More
