A wonderful oasis just outside of the Banff village. 25 mins. by car. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Great for biking along 1A, or driving and strolling. 1 km off Hwy 1. This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Who would have thought it sensible to put lovely chalets by a railway? My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and lasted one night. Area: The CMC is located next to the Castle Mountain and between highway 1 and A1. There is nothing around the CMC for many kilometres except beautiful nature. We had a wonderful week that even included our dog. The Chalets are private, quiet (other than the proximity to the busy rail track) and comfortable. There are mountains to hike, trails to explore as well as Lake Louise and Banff nearby. The staff are welcoming and provide great service. It feels like home without the stesses of the city.... more
