First, things that you should know. Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to stay. There is a $25.00 dollar handling charge for cancellations. The cabins are located in the Banff National Park & are located approx. 25 minutes from the city of Banff. Read the fine print on their website. Hiked to the lower falls, beautiful. Johnson Canyon (the... More

We stayed at the resort one night of the two we had booked. These are very rustic cabins with no TV or phone. Cabins are very close together and need repair. Ours smelled like smoke. In bed, the mattress was bad and we both ended up in the middle. The restaurant is super expensive. More

If you are looking for a place to escape the crowds of Banff and Lake Louis, this is the perfect location right in between both towns. But make sure you wake up early enough to hike up to the upper falls (or even the ink pots) before all the tourbuses come. =) It is really quiet, with beautiful views and... More

No phone, no tv, just beautiful scenery and plenty of time to read and relax. These homey cabins were just right for getting away and enjoying the mountains. Comfortable chairs, fireplace, great lighting, nice towels, and very clean to boot. The location makes it easy to go to Banff, Lake Louise, Yoho or Kootenay. As other reviewers mentioned, it is... We just returned from a trip with another couple that included 3 nights at Johnston Canyon. We were in one of the most expensive cabins because we needed two queen bedrooms. We specifically asked for 2 queen beds. The "bed" in our room was horrible! It consisted of two twin box springs and mattresses on the floor, with a pad... More

We stayed at the Johnston Canyon Resort 10 days ago. Located about halfway between Banff and Lake Louise, the location is convenient for visiting both areas. The resort is right next to (within 20 yards!) of the very popular Johnston Canyon/Falls trailhead. So, if you want a day hike without driving anywhere to start, this is the place. We stayed... More

We booked the Pilot bungalow a very nice updated cabin with a pull out for the kids. New bathroom, fireplace. Very romantic! The resort has a nice 'fifties-feeling' to it. The cabins are older but rustic and charming, the Diner serves oldfashioned burgers. Location is fine, between the busier places like Lake Louise and Banff. I think if you book... More

Picked because it's pet-friendly, my Mother & I have been visiting Johnston Canyon every September for the past 5 years. Other than one year, when we were told dogs were "no longer allowed" (which was misinformation), the staff have been friendly & helpful. We usually stay in either the Two-Person Cottage or the Fireplace Cottage. Both are small, but very... More

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed as a birthday treat and so paid for a river view room and wow! The bathroom had an old-fashioned bath tub in which you could have a really good soak and the shower was very powerful too. The room was cosy and it was just so nice to be able to sit... More

We followed the signs to Lake Louise and saw a sign for the Bow Valley Parkway which was stated to be the scenic route. After about 20 minutes we literally saw more amazing views of mountains and view points than in our last 2 days. Johnston Canyon was a smaller cabin setting that candy store in Lake Louise recommended. Because... More
