We were in Banff for a ski trip at Sunshine January 28th, 2010 and stayed at the Best Western Siding 29 Lodge. We had a FABULOUS stay in room 300. The room was very spacious with a king bed and the jacuzzi was WONDERFUL after a day of skiing! The next morning we enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast and then... more

We've stayed here on at least 3 separate occasions since January 2001 and it continues to be the best choice for us in terms of affordability, good location, heated enclosed parking, terrific breakfast (2009), spacious rooms, and very good service. The negatives include an elevator that is slow (take the stairs and get some excercise!) the heating, cooling, ventilation control... more

My boyfriend and I planned a quiet romantic Christmas Eve stay in Banff. This hotel was highly recommended to us by more than one person because of its rates, service and quality. We booked the Presidential Suite at a rate of $299/night complete with King size bed, our own patio with our own private hot tub. We were so excited... more

Dear Guest, First off I would like to apologize for the problems that you had with your room. The yellow milk crates are just temporary supports until we get the bed fixed. We are planning to renovate the Presidential Suite in the next few months because we know that it is in need. As for the noisy guests next door...

The title says it all ... Nice, clean, quiet, and cheap. Bathroom was nice, room was huge, and the beds were comfy. Underground parking wasn't that great, kind of crowded and hard to park with a bigger rig more

Over the years we have stayed in many hotels in Banff and surrounding area. We found this hotel gave us very good value for the price. We were particularly impressed with the continental breakfast that was provided at no extra charge. This breakfast included not only the bread type of breakfast supplied by most hotels, but also included hot food... more

I have stayed in this hotel three times. Front desk staff went out of their way to help us. We had a beautifully decorated room on second floor with a breathtaking view of mountains. Room was very clean, great job by houskeeping staff. Underground parking is definitely a plus feature. more

For $200 you should get more then just a average room and not that good a breakfast..It was clean ,but needs to be updated for this kind of money. The parking is under the hotel and your car or truck can be no taller then 5'9 .So we had to park down the street from the hotel ..Not good more

Management response from
Matthew Henderson, manager

Dear Guest, Yes we know that the prices are high. You have to remember that this is Banff National Park and all the hotels in the town charge high prices during that time of the season. I apoligize for the parking situation. You can actually fit a vehicle with a height of about 6'4 in the paking garage although there...

Banff is one of Canada's premier holiday destinations so why the Best Western chain allows their good name to stand behind the BW Siding 29 Lodge is incomprehensible. This hotel shows neglect:. The pool ladder was broken, the railing on the main staircase unbolted and not repaired (obviously for a long time). The girls at the front desk just smiled... more

Dear Guest, We are sorry to hear that you had a bad stay here. The hotel did have a bad bed bug problem during the summer but so did all of Banff. Many hotels had reports of bed bugs and as of now all of the bed bugs are gone. I also apologize for the ladder and railing being broken....

Decided to book this hotel as a stopover on the way home from a 2 week vacation in B.C. Assumed that it would be good value accommodation as it is a Best Western. Any standards that a Best Western should uphold were not in evidence here. We checked in and just dropped off our bags and headed to the hot... more

It's an easy 5 minute walk to downtown, large rooms, comfortable beds (new linens) and pet-friendly. Paid $149 CAD which seemed to be a good summer price compared to other places in Banff. Continental breakfast was an added bonus. FYI for winter visitors, the garage is heated. more
