Cathedral Mountain Lodge is listed on Trip Advisor in the "specialty lodging" category and this is deserved. It IS a special place, and it was worth the splurge for us. Besides the magnificent setting, the beautiful and perfectly decorated cabins, and the scrumptious breakfast buffet, we were thrilled to discover that our room rate included complimentary canoeing on Lake Morraine... more

This hotel was actually fairly nice, but our expectations had been inflated by the hotel's description of the rooms having "mountain views". In fact, out view was of 6 other log cabins (although you could just about see the tip of a mountain from certain angles, over the top of the other cabins). The cabins were only a few metres... more

My wife and I stayed for two nights. Everything was Great, the location, the staff , and the food. I highly recommend staying here. We stayed 5/31/08 and 6/1/08. The weather was cool with some rain off and on. We slept with the windows open and under a comforter. I haven't slept that good in weeks. more

Awesome lodge, impeccable service and staff, and some great hiking that made us very weary (which eased my guilt about our indulgence in the dining room)...what's not to love. While it's a short hop from Lake Louise, it felt like you were a time zone away completely removed from what is surely a tourist trap extraordinaire. We will stay here... more

Not enough superlatives available to describe our visit to the Rocky Mountains, and in particular this lodge. Our hosts in Canmore had recommended this spot as a good place to stop on our drive through the national parks. We orginially planned for a night and then to move on into Jasper, however after a great evening we opted to extend... more

Our room was lovely, comfortable and done out well, with a whole side made of glass looking out towards the mountains, and had the feel (to us Brits!) of a real log cabin. It was a good size with 2 chairs, a gas (fake log) fire (and even a real kettle!). That said, although we stayed in a Wapta King,... more

My husband and I made our reservations 5 months in advance and requested a quiet cabin away from others since it was for our honeymoon. We were SUPER excited to get to it after our stressful wedding planning. When we arrived, they booked us a room adjacent to another couple and we were really upset. We had specifically requested a... more

Cathedral Mountain Lodge was a beautiful lodge. The cabins, though close together, are lovely and cozy. We stayed in cabin number 5 located on the river. The view was mostly obscured by the beautiful trees but still nice. It had a wood burning fireplace, very comfortable couch, chair, unbelievably comfortable bed, and an awesome bathroom. It was cozy, clean, and... more

This was our second stay at the Cathedral Mountain Lodge and although not as enjoyable as the first, it was still a decent place for a few nights accommodation when exploring this stunning part of the world. The cabins are all well-appointed and cozy. Certainly not the biggest, but having stayed in other more basic units, there is no denying... more

Cathedral Mountain Lodge aims to be one of the trendiest cabin-style hotel in the Yoho-Lake louise area. The cabins and the main lodge are beautifully appointed and decorated and the staff are courteous and willing to help. This said, however, we found that this property had some serious drawbacks. To begin with, its location is bad. Some of the cabins... more
