We bought a timeshare at the Mayan Palace about 4 years ago. They showed us around and gave us the " oh my god, you should buy here" the newest resort in Puerto Penasco. So we did after talking them down from 120,000 to 8,000 for a single room. We have stayed there every year for the past 3 years,... More

Spent a few weeks in Dec 2011 and was impressed by the facilities and the staff. This is not the warmest place in Mexico in the winter months but I can only imagine it as wonderful in the Spring and fall months. The place was spotless and the Huge Heated Indoor Pool really made a difference. The food selection in... More

The best part of the Mayan Palace vacation at the end of December and into January was the long, very private beach with amazing shells for collecting. We made a point of walking several miles every day, and during low tide we were rewarded with many treasures from the sea. At the MP, however, we encountered issues such that we... More

We are Mayan Palace owners and decided to visit Puerto Penasco because we could drive there. The Drive: Absolutely zero problems! We were stopped on the USA side of the border twice after leaving. We were stopped once on the Mexican side of the border during a drive from MP to Puerto Penasco by federales. The federales were very polite,... More

We had booked a 2 week (Dec 17 - Dec 28) stay at the Mayan Palace with our friends through their RCI time share. So, there were 8 of us in total (4 adults & 4 children). We had a shuttle take us from Phoenix to the resort and were anticipating a wonderful Christmas vacation. Unfortunately, the weather was not... More

Great building, confortable rooms and nice mexican design the problem is that after October and till February the weather is really cold, so as the swimming pool... ypu don't want to swim in the ocean either. The hotel is 35 minutes away from the town (where the action and fun is) More

I drove down to Puerto Penasco with my wife and two teenage boys from Phoenix, Arizona. It took about 4 ½ hours. Before leaving I Googled the resort. I spent several hours looking for the resort on a map. I finally found it aparetly on the north side of town. However, it ended up being on the south side of... More

Resort was beautiful and the bell men worked hard carrying all luggage upstairs. One building was three floors and had no elevators. Every day they carried our groceries upstairs. There were 11 of us in 3 units. The ocean view rooms were nice, but our a/c didn't work and we called 5 days in a row and they never came... More

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to The Mayan Palace. W had a tough time finding the place, since we traveled at night. It's very dark (no street lights to guide you) and quite a ways from town (about 25 mins). Once we arrived, the front desk was wonderful. We had to wait like 10 minutes, due to... More

I should state up front that we are Mayan owners. Not just Mayan owners, but Grand Luxxe owners. We were aware that we were staying in a Mayan Palace as opposed to one the higher level resorts. The staff was absolutely terrific! (Excluding any staff having to do with timeshare that is.) Front desk, pool staff, housekeeping, pro-shop, spa, general... More
