As others have noted, staff could be friendlier and rooms are pricey for what you get. But for creature comforts, there doesn’t seem to be a better option in this remote, delightful, riverside town. Nong Kiau Riverside's okay, but I do not think it's worth the price at all. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were decent - spacious, well decorated (for a bungalow), and housekeeping service was included. The only place in Laos where the welcome was neither warm nor friendly. Felt as our presence there was actually an inconvenience.
