You should stay here! It's a wonderful, relaxing hideaway - close enough to the beach and ruins yet pleasantly far enough away from all things hectic! Lou & Moe provide an amazing experience; they've really thought of everything. We traveled to Cancun after just 2 nights of LSM, and our only regret on the trip is that we wish that... More

Excellent place to stay if you want quiet and relaxation. The water features Lou has built are so calming and cooling in the middle of the jungle. The open air bathroom and shower was so fun--almost like camping in the jungle but with all the amenities. I wish we had spent a week instead of a few days. Mari and... More

My sweetie and I were here for 5 nights in January 2011 and decided to return for 7 nights in January 2012. Lou and Mari are the most accomodating hosts ever - they truly have thought of everything! The B&B rooms are beautiful and clean. The B&B property is a magical experience with many species of birds and butterflies. The... More

La Selva Mariposa was the ideal setting for our first trip to Mexico. The owners were well prepared to answer all of our questions and more than met our needs. Example: the page in their guide book labeled Mexican driving 101 provided many good tips for Americans driving in Mexico. Their guidebooks provided useful information on the myriad of activities... What an outstanding experience!. Although we expected a jungle environment, La Selva Mariposa was over the top. With the waterfall outside our door and the animal noises in the morning we were relaxed from the moment we arrived. Starting the day with Moe and Lou's wonderful breakfasts and chatting with their interesting guests was a great way to learn about... More

Can't thank you enough for the outstanding review. I liked how you said the charm was the LOCATION. Now that we have a fun Mexican restaurant in Macario Gomez, guests like yourselves can enjoy an inexpensive and authentic meal just steps from LSM. More

La Selva Mariposa was one of the best lodging experiences I have ever had. They were flexible with meeting with me and my fiance, after we attended a wedding near Cancun, and picked us up for the drive down to Tulum. We rented a car through them and were able to visit all the ruins in the area as well... More

We appreciate the wonderful review that you posted about your stay last March. You really need to come back as we have created even more interesting and charming little corners nestled around the grounds since your visit in 2011. More

I read the reviews on La Selva Mariposa, and based on those comments, we booked three nights there Jan28-30. We were happy the moment we walked into the beautiful jungle oasis. Without going into too much detail, because there is so much to say... i will try to give you the basics. There is nothing that has not been thought... More

Thanks for the positive review about your stay with us at LSM. It is helpful when guests read the trip advisor reviews and our web site before a visit. This helps them realize "we are not on the beach" and you have come for a "mayan jungle experience." You can't get better than PERFECT, but we will continue to upgrade... More

We had a wonderful time at La Selva Mariposa! It's perfectly located, so that there are many activities in the area but the bed and breakfast itself feels like it's secluded away in the jungle. The beach is a short drive away. We spent one memorable morning touring the property and being amazed by all that is hidden away in... More

We are so pleased that LSM provided a great launching station for all the activities you and your family wanted to see while in the area. We are pleased that you decided to stay your entire week with us. Thanks for the kind words and we look forward to your return. More

I stayed here as part of group of 2 couples this month and I would like to say that I was amazed ! I have worked hard doing farming and construction (among countless other labor intensive jobs)all my life and this La Selva Mariposa shows the kind of labor of love that only long hours and a vision can produce!... This place was something special, from the private pool outside your bedroom door to the open ceiling bathroom it was a cool place. It is a secluded location but you can walk to the highway and walk across the street to a sit down restaurant and just down the street from the restaurant is a taco place that had the... More
