This place was a little disappointing. Here are both good and bad points of the hotel: Good: Beautiful location, on the beach but close to downtown Friendly/helpful staff Right on the beach (though beach is a bit small) Good restaurant, but pricey compared to some other places. Very cute bar, with swings to sit on, and really comfortable hammocks in... more

We booked the "Cabana" which was supposed to be a romantic place on the seashore. It turned out to be a shack located between a very busy road, the noisy hotel restaurant/bar and the bar toilet. When we objected about the location of our shack, the hotel clerk just ignored us. We ended up upgrading our room for a very... more

We’ve stayed several days at Luna Maya in November 2008. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is not looking for top-notch, Cancun-style, plush accommodation. After all, who needs plush if you’re just a few feet away from the beach? Luna Maya has all advantages of a small, family-run hotel – great service, privacy, clean rooms, secluded beach, etc.... more

This quaint, charming hotel was nothing short of paradise. The beach was small and beautiful, the perfect place to spend a lazy morning or swing on a hammock while the sky grows dark. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, especially Daisy. The waitstaff in the restaurant were also friendly and were very patient while I tried to use my... more

We just came back from our one week trip to Tulum staying at this nice, secluded hotel along the Boca Paila strip of hotels. A short distance away from the pueblo (downtown) and the Tulum Ruins, this small hotel is highly recommended for travellers who want a little privacy, and yet still be near to where all the actions are!... more

This past May I realized the dream of taking my class of 21 eighth graders to Tulum, Mexico. Our one-week stay was a great success thanks, in no small measure, to the openness and generosity of our hosts at Luna Maya, who responded to our every request with a smile and prompt service. This cozy hotel on a secluded cove... more
