I promised I would write a review when I returned in August 2010. However I never ended up staying at Jade Tulum in 2010 because they ended up canceling my reservation. I have no idea what the status is there. Since my return, I have responded to numerous private messages from other TripAdvisor users. So I will copy and paste... More

I have a reservation to stay at Jade Tulum on 7/31/10. I just received an email saying they sold the property and are moving to the mountains. Their official web page has the same message but they will be taking the website down in a couple weeks. This hotel name will change very soon. I will write my review when... More

Jade is a great place to come to and to relax and leave all worries and sorrows behind- we loved the place, we stayed in heaven and it did feel like it-heaven is built 14m above the wonderful sandy beaches of southern Tulum, it is a place where you can see the sunrise and the sunset and hear the waves... I loved Jade Tulum. The beach was amazing and falling asleep while listening to the waves crashing against the shore was SO relaxing. As for the cabana... I loved it ( I stayed in "Water"). jade is really unique from other cabanas because it was in the treetops. It felt a little like camping ( so if you're not a... More

This was the climax to our Yucatan trip, a week here over Christmas. First impressions were one of amazement, looked like we had found our nirvana. Juan and Martha were so friendly and welcoming at first. The place is built on stilts, all done by the host themselves, with views out onto on of the best stretches of Tulum beach.... More

Jade Tulum Is an isolated romantic retreat on the best beach in the mayan Riviera. Jade is built up on stilts at the edge of the jungle overlooking the beach. Its was exactly what we expected and more. It is simple with minimal service. The owners were polite and gave us lots of space and freedom to use their facility... More

We loved staying at Jade Tulum. It is not for everyone, so I will provide you with some details to help you make your decision on whether this is the place for you. 1) It is like staying in a modern tree house. It is not glamorous. The rooms are as clean as they can be considering they are right... More

We had an outstanding time. The building is wonderfully designed--it's rustic and elegant at the same time. You can see the ocean from most of the rooms. Juan and Martha are friendly and very helpful, and their daughter Sophie is a gem. They showed us all how to make ceviche and we all gathered to a delicious feast of it.... More

We came to Tulum without reservations, which allowed us to check out many of the hotels since availability was scarce. We ditched Ocho Tulum after one night (see my review). Jade is funky and rough around the edges, but at least it has character. Unlike most of the places where you take the beach to your room, Jade is traversed... More

My partner and I spent 10 days at Jade in January 2009. We a wanted a quiet, unpretentious, rustic place where we could roll out of bed and onto a beach chair with a book. We got it. The beach at Jade is beautiful and relatively uncrowded, and Martha and Juan (the owners) contribute to a laid back, friendly place.... More
