There were four friends in a double garden room and even though the rooms are very basic, we were quite comfortable. The first night we were aware of the music coming from a club down the beach but it stopped around 9 PM and really wasn't an issue for us. We had a couple of things go wrong in our room... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Las Palapas during the start of our tour through Mexico. Staff were very friendly and service was good. Breakfast was a good start to the day with fresh omelettes made every day, plenty of fruit and different offerings. The room was average, very spacious large bed but a rather hard mattrass. Decoration was quite... More

love this place! Loved the thatched roof room....felt like real mexico! Breakfast was delicious, the grounds are beautiful, and you can walk to 5th ave no problem from this beach location. Excellent restaurants & shopping all around to choose from. Beach bar serves excellent drinks & doesn't skimp on the alcohol! Far enough off the beaten path to get away... More

Not only is the beach the best in Playa, but the staff at Las Palapas is exceptional. Front desk staff is very knowledgable and recommended some great "authentic" mexican restaraunts. Breakfast is wonderful. Fresh fruits and juices every day, as well as omelits, bacon and sausages. The grounds are immaculate. Staff keep the place beautiful. I hope to go back... More

This is not a normal hotel, is it a selection of high class rooms in a little nature reserve next to a wonderful beach and a short stroll from the centre of Playa del Carmen, but it is infinitely more than this, as it has all the qualities of a first class hotel. The restaurant serves a fabulous breakfast and... More

Las Palapas Hotel is a delightful place to spend a couple of weeks. The thatched-roof cabannas are set around rhe edge of a large treed space close to the beach. Staff are charming and helpful. Vast buffet-type Breakfast, included in the room-rate, is excellent. The next door property, is a sort of disco-hotel, pounding out a monotomousand head-pouding beat during... More

We just got back from 6 nights at Las Palapas and found the hotel fantastic. Yes there was music some days between 2-7 but not on Sundays and Mondays. This is from Mamitas next door and not anything that the hotel can really control. We had a great bungalow - 9 which was 4 back from the beach, huge 4... More

Hard to believe you are in the "middle" of Playa del Carmen in this gorgeous spot. Beautiful grounds, lots of birds and the beach is perfect. The staff are very accomodating and friendly. You have to ignore the "Beach Club" next door boom out its music for a few hours every afternoon and don't order the spinach salad! Otherwise it... More

After reading nice reviews and looking at a pleasant website, we were very surprised to find a crowded beach with rental beach chairs for the public, a large party scene, a shady/cold pool, and not to mention the large club next door that blasts outdoor music all afternoon. You can hear the music pounding throughout the hotel and the echo... More

We apologize for any inconvenient caused by the music, but certainly Playa del Carmen is a touristic destination and sometimes party comes with it. We really hope you come back to Las Palapas during other months, not including high-season, we would... More

The hotel overall is a great, maybe the best option to stay while in Playa del Carmen. The location - off the really crowded town and beach area but still within walking distance to everything. The setting is great, the beach, tropical garden and rooms as well and the a la carte food at the restaurant, even for half-board guets... More
