The building is beautiful, historical and full of character. The owner/ manager/ staff could not do any more to make your life easy, cooking meals for you whenever you want, helping with restaurant reservations, its like having your own personal concierge 24/7
In terms of the location it is a bit of a walk into the centre of town but...

First off, this place is gorgeous. The rooms were splendidly furnished and filled with lovely details, boasting huge ceilings and doors apparently made for some mythical breed of giants. Staff, during our time comprised of one, was very helpful and polite. Location is good but not perfect. Main areas of attraction are within walking distance, but anything more than 10...

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and very clean with high ceilings, air conditioning, multiple ceiling fans, and gigantic, romantic, wood framed beds. The floors have beautiful antique tile designs. The staff could not be more accomodating and friendly. We felt like family.

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Merida for two nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The great experience started with the making of our reservation and the the prompt and friendly service we received--the response and follow up were immediate. Luis, who is the manager, really does a nice job.
The hotel is walk of 10 minutes or so...

Okay, when booking this reservation, we so wanted to believe all the raves we read here on Trip Advisor that we just breezed over the not-so-good reviews. BIG MISTAKE!

Rooms were very clean, bottled water was provided along with other items in the mini bar, great breakfast and while we...

I promised I would write a review upon my return home, so here it is.
Have been planning on going to the Yucatan for several years to go and see the Myan ruins. Finally got round to doing it, so glad I did. I found the Villa Merida's website while researching my trip and took advantage of their explorer package....

Cannot say enough good things about my stay at The Villa Merida.
A fantastic hotel, it's actually more like staying in a mansion than a hotel, with a wonderful staff.
A truly memorable experience. Food was wonderful, rooms were delightful, staff and service were exemplary. Their guide, Rudolfo, was so knowledgeable and guided us for a couple of days around...

My husband and I were in Merida for a family wedding and the in-laws has made us reservations at the Villa Merida (they're from Merida.) What an absolutely charming, beautiful, superbly run property.
It's small, and we basically had all the rooms for the weekend. It was wonderful, the manager, Luis, and his staff are superlative. There is nothing that...
