We were at the resort in April 2012. We did the snorkeling tour through hotel...no one told us we were renting the snorkeling gear. Went to take equipment back, they were closed. Wanted me to pay $36.00 rent for 2 snorkels...at a place where non motorized water sports are free. Food was so so and the staff was over worked...lined... More

Spring break 2012 at the Melia was loads of fun! There were 19 of us who traveled from Michigan, Ohio & Colorado. This was a family vacation and the first time any of us had actually stayed in Cozumel (besides a day trip). I'll speak on behalf of my family. Great place! We originally were booked in the garden view... More

My daughter and her friend have been planning their senior spring break for years (at least since middle school). It was to be a mother and daughter vacation. After a lot of research and planning, the girls decided on Cozumel. Melia Cozumel was the resort that was settled on as we loved the idea of an all-inclusive (so there were... More

Second time in Cozumel (first time at the El Cozumeleno) and we prefer the Melia. First the beach.Lots of beach front, lots of chairs ( we could routinely get a place at 2 PM. Not the choice place, but a decent place). Compare that to the Cozumeleno at 7 AM. Rooms were good and extremely clean. We left for a... More

Starting at check in we were advised that the hotel was overbooked and the jr suite, king bed, upper floor of the tower that we booked was not available. But, we have a deal for you! A honeymoon room with a Jacuzzi. Well that was on the first floor on the other side by the family area. Not a deal... More

Another mom and I took our daughters here for their senior year spring break .... to sum it up fast, the place is WONDERFUL! I was a little skeptical before we left after reading so many negative comments but those people must be negative people because we could find absolutely NOTHING to complain about. From the time of check-in to... More

We booked the Melia well in advance of "March break" and as a result were able to upgrade our room and have the golf inclusive package included at no cost. The hotel itself is very well kept and clean, we were fortunate enough to have a room on the 14th floor #1405, the elevator only goes to 12 but then... More

It's a beautiful hotel. We had a hot tub on the deck and partial kitchen . f you go all inclusive, I'd recommend eating more often at their fine dining restaurant. It requires a reservation, but the food there is better. We tended to eat more often at the buffet however, since we were hungry after SCUBA diving . It... More

Melia was great. We arrived late at night and we decided to see if we were able to upgrade.....and we were! We upgraded to a honeymoon suite right on the beach with a hot tub on our deck. It was awesome, wonderful and very romantic every night. This resort does not have much of a night life but that was... More
