My friend & I spent a week in Room 22---best room in the house---rather than hurrying through the Chichen-Itza ruins in a day. What a great choice that was!!! Since the ruins are about 2 hours' drive from Cancun, we arranged private car service to & from the airport, so avoided the whole rental car/traffic hassle. After our flight, a... More

Location, location, location Very conveniently located, you can walk right upto Chichen Itza. Staying overnight, you can check out the night lights show. Rooms were not well maintained. Toilet didnt work, door knob was not working. Nets had holes. But in general the hotel was nice and food was good too. Water is super expensive though, bottled water in the... More

Pros: Location! Landscaping, and cottages in general were nice, was nice to walk around. Good food Cons: Broken toilet, Holes in the nets, not the best maintained rooms, super-expensive charges for water Probably still among the best around. More

A nice hotel with beautiful grounds and good but quite expensive restaurant. In general, we loved it. The only issue we had was difficulty of finding the lobby as we entered the hotel complex following the road sign "Hotel & B. Mayaland" from the Piste side. We arrived close to dusk and nobody was at the parking lot to guide... More

I have been lucky enough to stay at the Mayaland several times in the past two years. What impresses me most is the location, the food and the service. I've had everything from buffet tacos to a five course, five star meal on property (be sure to try the house made Ceasar salad - it's out of this world) and... More

I also became "very" ill after eating at the Mayaland hotel on December 27th. This was only my 2nd trip to mexico, so I was careful to only drink bottled water and beer, and I was also very careful of what I ate. We cooked for ourselves most of the trip and only ate well-cooked food. Our hotel had an... More

What a spectacular place. Rolling lush gardens with mayan temples and sabces running through the grounds. The rooms are very spacious and well designed. The bungalow section at the Lodge at Mayaland is the best and well worth the extra cost. With it's two semi private pools we enjoyed a great swim after a morning exploring Chichen Itza. we also... Upon arriving we were chauffeured from the parking lot to the lobby. Our friendly driver pointing out amenities on the way. At the front desk we were given a cool cloth and a glass of jamaica (cranberry hibiscus) juice. Both refreshing after our 2+ hour drive in from Cancun. We were told we were receiving an upgrade to a bungalow... More

My wife and I ate at the Mayaland hotel December 20th, 2011. We ate at the buffet as part of a bus tour. It ruined our trip. Thanks mayaland you ruined our last few days of our trip. I am back at the states and I am still feeling it. Your ruining my Christmas! More

First & foremost, we are sorry that you felt sick during your visit to our area. The day you had lunch with us at our buffet restaurant, December 20th, we served 1,095 meals to our patrons. It is literally impossible to serve this many meals, buffet style, and have only one sick client when everyone else is eating the very... More

This place is beautiful, comfortable and has an Indiana Jones feel. The Hotel is literally part of the Archeological site, basically your back yard are the pyramids. We felt very lucky to be there, they have 3 large pools (not heated) 2 restaurants and a small bar. The rooms are spacious, clean and most of them have a great view.... More
