My hubbie had been here 25 yrs ago when it didn't have a/c and was like something out of a Bogart film. It has been expanded & updated and was really wonderful. When we arrived for our two night stay we were greeted very friendly with a glass of bubbly and our luggage and we were driven to the lobby. The first impression of the area as very green and full of flowers and birds kept througout our stay. We previously stayed at this hotel in 1996 when we were not impressed. Lack of availability at other Chichen Itza hotels forced us to come here again, and it was better than we remembered. Location is excellent, with the (rear) entrance to the archaeological site being from the grounds of the hotel. And the hotel grounds are very pleasant gardens.... more
